Well I just got an FD and I had some questions.

Does anyone know a good rotary mechanic in the denver area (prefferably close to Golden)?

Does anyone know of any good forums?

I also need some good aftermarket vendors with good prices if anyone has any sugestions that would be great.

Thanks,

Jason

Check out www.rx7club.com for forums. There's a place called Rotary Sepecials in Denver, near Federal and Hampden; they should be able to help you out for mechanical stuff.. Mazdatrix and RX7.com both have a good secection of aftermarket parts but they're pretty $$$$$. In fact just about everything for that car is expensive.. Good luck!

They suck. They tried to charge my husband $2000 when he got his first 7 to fix something that really costs about 50 cents.

He now knows alot about the rotarys and would be willing to help you if you need a mechanic.

Also if you need parts rx7store.net has the best prices I've seen.

don't take your 7 to rotary specialists. I've heard nothing but bad things. If you need to take it to a shop, go to Louie @ rpm inc. (The mazda honda shop). He is a badass. its down off of County line road.

I have to advise against the Mazda Honda shop too. We just got a built TII from a guy that took his car there. They told him that two seals were cracked and that the rotors could not be used for a rebuild. They offered him $200 for the body. The TPS needed to be adjusted and it is fine now. We ended up with a very clean 90 gtu with a TII drive line. It has lots of upgrades and a mild port. It weighs 2400 lbs with Sean in it and just dynoed at 250 hp and 237 torque. The best part for us is we paid $1500 for it. Six months ago the guy bought it for $5500.

While I cant specifically recommend a shop to you there are a number of us FDers in the boulder area. I've been able to get any problem I've ever had fixed with some (ok a lot) of support from a few of my FD friends. feel free to PM me and let me know if there is anything specific you need done I can refer you to some people who've got more knowledge and passion about FD's than any shop around.

Between www.rx7club.com and a bit of knowledge I think you could handle anything short a full rebuild.

The chasis code is FD3S so people just cause it FD.

FD= 3rd gen
FC= 2nd Gen
FB= 1st Gen

So we can run 12 psi safely becuase of the altitude.Thats good to know.I guess the high altitude is good for something.LOL.
I wonder just how many fd's are in colorado.If theres enough.Maybe someone should open up a rotary shop.Would be worth it since there are literally none out here.Getting a rebuild or a tune job locally would be so much easier.
