what year GS do you have.... no the turbo will not mount to the botom of your N/A header ... if you have a 1G 94 or older you can buy a turbo manifold and it will bolt up then you can bolt your turbo to that.

ok that answers my question now if i buy a turbo kit can i mount a larger turbo on in due time

yes... all garret/mitusbishi turbos have the same flange ie 14b 16g 18g 20g t25 t28 ect... but other companys have a different flange... such as t3 t4 t3/t4 ect... but if you get a DSM manifold any of those first mentioned turbos will bolt up to it... and there are many other options that carry the garret flange.... keep in mind that any DSM 95 or newer the non-turbo DSMs (engine code: 420a) have a different engine than the turbo DSMs (engine code 4g63) and the 4g63 manifold will not fit the 420a... but all 89-94 DSMs have the 4g63 engine (even non turbos ones) so all engine parts are interchangable

and you probably wont need to buy a kit ... if you are going to turbo a 89-94 just call around to junkyards and buy the parts.... you will need DSM turbo manifold (any year 95+ is better), DSM turbo (any year 89-94 is better) DSM turbo injectors (440s any year) DSM side mount intercooler (any year) DSM Turbo Intake with MAF (89-94) ... all intercooler piping with DSM Blow off valve (89-94 is better) 89-94 DSM Turbo ECU

You need to sit down in front of a DSM with a knowledgeable DSM guy and have him explain all the basics about the car and the turbo system. You are definately a newb, which is fine but one on one information with someone extremely knowledgable is definately what you need. Turbocharging a non-turbo DSM is certainly not an easy chore for a turbo novice. Hopefully you can locate someone to help you learn more about how turbo systems function, and learn what parts are interchangeable etc.

You're going to be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better off if you seel the non-turbo DSM and buy a different one with a turbo from the factory. By the time you're done with the project you'll have spent a shitload of cash and only be about as fast as a stock turbo DSM.

well i foudn out hahns racecraft makes everything i need and i can get a kit that makes a 20 g turbo kit including everythinng for 4 grand so i think imma just go down that path on buying that because i just spent 2500 on upgrading all internal parts and i would be out some great buys ....but now i know i should of bought a turbo stock would of been easier but think bout it this way imma have one of kind turbo when im done and when im making 24000 grand a year why hesitate

HRC makes the only good kit for NTs. but you are going to have problems in other departments.

first off: 2gnt.com read and ask questions

second: it is cheaper to get a turbo DSM

third: if you are 100% adimate about droppping $6k into your engine bay there are other things you are goingto need besides the HRC kit. 2gnt goes into more detail, but heres a starter.

1. built engine. 420 cant even handle 11psi from a 16g
2. clutch
3. ignition, dis-2, with out it you cant control your timing and KABOOM!
4. afpr, the hrc one sucks ass
5. injectors
6. header back exhaust, the hrc dp replaces the header
7. s-afc, datalogger, guages
8. 2weeks, beer and friends with tools

i know there is more but its all thats coming off the top of my head.

after doing an hrc kit on a friends 2gnt. i recommend to everyone, buy a turbo dsm.

Is that alot? I assume you live at home and have no other bills or something? I bet half of that will be gone before this turbo project of yours is completed. Not flaming in any way, but just pointing out that turbocharging a non turbo motor is HARD(especially for a novice that will be paying for labor on top of alot of parts), and takes ALOT of $$ in simple small parts etc.

Hehe I won't say anything else. I was just curious if 24K is supposed to be a lot of $$ or something. Just trying to help the guy out, by making sure he gets help from some knowledgable DSM guys before going head first into this project.

I know you were. You weren't the one I was rolling my eyes at. I don't make 24,000 a year, but I don't think it's a lot of money. Any slack jawed retard could pull that off. And since he's got bills, he probably brings in about the same disposable income as I do.

Any kid who makes 12 dollars an hour full time. If I worked full time, I'd make more than that. We all know what you're trying to say, but it's really nothing to brag about, bills or no bills.

Here's the deal though. Remember that one girl that you really liked in High School? You thought she was the best thing in the world, and you spent years getting the courage to talk to her, then when you finally did, you found out that she was a total bitch, or a ditz; and you finally realized that it would never work between the two of you because you'd rather kill yourself instead. Then you moped for weeks to your friends about what a bitch she was and how all you did was waste your time? Well that's what it's like turboing your motor when you can just sell it and buy a factory turbo one for SO MUCH easier. Just a big fat waste of time.

And DON'T YOU DARE try and tell me that you just want to be different. Because that's just bullshit! You don't want to be different, you want to be fast.

Just sell your car and buy a factory turboed car. You'll be happier in the end. I wish my bills were only $600 a month. I'd be loaded. Try paying insurance on 8 sports cars while your only 24 years old.
