buying used engine parts

I'm looking to buy some forged pistons and rods.
Went on ebay and found some used pauter rod and some crower rod. I'm asking you guys if it is worth it to buy a pair of these rods used for half the price.

I mean whats the worse case that can happen when buying such strong rods used.

I guess what you have to ask yourself is WHY are they used?
The seller better be very trustworthy. Plus you dont get any kind of warranty and you dont know how well the parts were treated in their previous life. For only half off I would buy new just for the piece of mind.

yea i agree. Especially if you are buying off ebay, you should buy them new because they are fairly cheap that way anyways.
