ok, to set this up, my buddy lives in these somewhat "iffy" apartments near me. not the best, but not the worst area. anyways. his parking lot is not well lit and backs up to a local park, so it's a good place for car jackers. for the last 3-4 months they have been having these breakins, at least once a week, usually more. people just breaking in and stealing what's in the car, never actually taking the car itself. anyways. my buddy comes home from work (he rides the light rail) about 7:30pm saturday night only to find his car was their target tonight. stole his cd player out of his blazer, and a couple sets of tools and just random other shit. scary part is his ignition was broken, so they could have just turned the key thing over and it would have started (without the key!!). anyways, he's pissed, calls the cops, turns out they were there the night before on the same thing. well sunday comes around and him and his girlfriend are pulling in, again at about 7:30. he sees a "lowrider" type truck chilling in the back corner (where are the cars had been getting broken into). he can't get the plates because of the lack of lights but goes inside and keeps an eye on these fuckers. about 15-20 minutes these guys are still there, same place, so my friend takes it upon himself to go see what the fuck is up. as he gets closer they start to pull away, but there is only one way out so they have to go by him. they pull up and stop haha. he asks them if they live there "no", he said they had a really thick spanish accent, and seemed a little confused. so he asked them if they knew someone who lived there "no". well now he was starting to think it's these guys and started getting a little pissed. so he asked them what the fuck are they doing there and are they the motherfuckers breaking into these cars and as he's getting his phone out they speed off, but this time he got the plate number. he calls the cops, tells them what went down, they tell them they just (like 10 minutes ago) got a call from someone in his place saying their car was broken into!! so they run the plates and find out the owner of the car lives near the apartments.
so now we know what they might drive, but we for sure know they strike before 8;8:30pm. so we are setting up a sting operation to fuck these guys up. plan is to hogtie them, set them in the courtyard area of his building, and put a sign next to them that lets everyone know this is who broke into your car haha.
