Read about it here: http://www.jandssafeguard.com/safeguard.html

This is a great detonation control device for any supercharged, turbo, or nitrous injected car. It can retard your timing a user selectable amount per PSI of boost, and also has the ability to start retarding at a certain user selectable PSI. If the J&S detects It can retard timing in all cylinder or per cylinder. Works with many different makes and models of cars. CARB approved.

"If you think you can twist a dash mounted knob to retard the timing in cylinder number four at eight pounds of boost with a coolant temperature of "x" at 6385 rpm on a day where the temperature is 92 degrees farenheit and the relative humidity is "y" and the car is in third gear on a 6% grade at 1600 feet altitude....well, you're first in line for the next Superman movie." Leave it up to the J&S to take the control necessary to keep your engine running without detonation.

All documentation and components included. Asking price is $600.00 for both the safeguard and the dual monitor. Importparts.com sells both for $704.10 + S&H.

it's up to you. I'm trying to go stand alone but need to unload this first, otherwise my wife will kill me.

Is it still for sale?

And what stand alone are you going with that you won't want to keep the J&S for??

I know some have a knock sensor, but some don't...

Just out of curiosity, what do you plan on doing? Forced induction?

If so, does the system you want use, have a knock sensor? Does it use the stock one?

I'm sure you know you what you are doing, but I don't want to see you sell something that might actually come in handy later on down the road. But I'm guessing you want to use the money from the sale to get the Hondata set up?

Sorry, I'm new to the board and I'm not sure what all you plan on doing with the car. And, I'm not sure on how good the stock knock sensor is (or even if there is one) on Honda's.

The 3rd gen Protege does, but it isn't that great and the J&S is something that a few people are using on their boosted Pro's...

I'm already FI. My engine already has a knock sensor in it and the ECU I buy for the hondata will also have a connection to it, so I should be good to go.

Are you lookin to get the the J&S? Or do you want the dual monitor as well? I'd like to sell them both together but it's not a necessity.
