turbo swap question

I've been wanting to TC my 86 crx si. A guy I know offered me a turbo from an 87 subaru(it's in good shape, clean, no shaft play...the Subaru was wrecked). It's a good price and I was wondering if there could be any problems using it on my crx.

I know what all is involved with turbocharging a n/a car, what I'm wondering is if this will be an ok turbo to use, I'm not looking for super power or anything, just a little boost. what do you guys think?

Well the Subaru turbo will not give you super power, that's for sure. I would look for a turbo from something else that actually made power, like a DSM or 280ZX.

Wrong question! The Suby turbo you are looking at is too small. You could get plenty of pressure of out it, knowing you are putting it on a similar-displacement car, but the outlet temperature would be way too high for a Honda compression ratio. You are better off with a T3/TO4 hybrid turbo. You can tailor the exhaust A/R for the spool-up you want, and you will have the large compressor to give you the efficiency you NEED. The Suby will not be efficient at the flow and pressure you need.
