Hey all, just making my entrance here.
A little about me: I've been a car guy since I was born literally, and while I was a Z28 guy as a kid, I've now grown into a serious import guy. I'm a little short on practical experience (lack of funds), but I'm about to embark on some serious upgrades. I currently go to the Colorado School of Mines, studying to be a Mech. Engineer. I've got quite a bit of knowledge about tuning Isuzu's, DSM's, and Nissans.
Now about my car: First car, bought for me by my parents (I'm the oldest, I needed to drive the young'uns around). It's a 90 Geo Storm GSi, and currently has a CAI and a 2.5 inch exhaust. Soon, (like in a month) I will be installing a turbo kit and will be running 7-9 psi of boost on 9.8 compression. I also plan to put coil-overs and higher damping shocks. I'm probably going to be making a custom rear anti-roll bar in the future.
The turbo kit will be upgraded with a larger downpipe, and water spraying the I/C.
So, if any of you are in Golden or Longmont, feel free to drop me a line.
I was going to rip on you for having such a large exhaust, but since you're going turbo, never mind. I am curious how a downpipe is an upgrade rather than a necessity though. Do you live at Mines?
Oh yeah, isn't Longmont like 40 minutes away from Golden? IT is whenever I make the drive. Ahhh, wait a minute, I think I figured it out, you live in Longmont and drive to Golden? Ouch.

The downpipe is going to be an upgrade from the one that I am about to acquire. The stock one is 2in, I think, I'm going weld up a 2.5 for better spool and power. Sorry about the confusion.
And about the exhaust, it actually adds more power than the 2.25 in one avalible for my car. If you want I can provide a link
And, no I don't live at Mines, but I live about a mile away in an apartment complex.
And no, I don't make the commute (god shoot me). I'm in Longmont once a week to mow lawns (39 bucks for an hour's work isn't bad) and to get food from my parents.

Welcome.
Back in '93 I bought a Storm GSi brand new and while it was fun for a while I just wanted a bigger car and something I could drive all year since at the time it would be my main car and that's how I ended up with a DSM
The Storm actually was a really good handler in stock trim and I ran a 17.3@79mph at Bandi back in '93 and at that time I think I was the only import/compact car there that day.

Welcome to HAI. My step mother has a gsi and I must say they are fast little cars. And they are a high reving engine.

What up Rob? Storms can represent HAI now! Just kidding. And unfortunately I'm going to have to give up 500 rpm on my redline for boost. Oh well, its worth it!;)
Robbie: I was just thinking about you the other day. I was saying, I wonder where that Storm/Impulse guy went off to.

Did I run into you at TEC in Golden a long time ago?
Just curious. I was in there buying some parts and talked to somebody building a turbo Storm.

No, you probably talked to my buddy Brandon. He's got a turbo AWD Storm. He goes to TEC for flanges and stuff. I still haven't found the place, but will need to go there when I want to make a new downpipe.

If you live on Mtn View and Airport you've seen me. I'm the kid in the teal Storm with the exhaust on it. I drive up Mtn. View once a week to mow lawns up by the golf course. And the turbo SOHC has a huge wing, stripes and is lowered right?

I think there use to be 3 blue ones. One guy was on my dorm floor and he transferred and the other was a chick, but i haven't seen her around lately.

You'll have to show it to me sometime. And good pic on getting a stick. Turns those Maxima's into serious sleepers.

I remember riding in his RX7. That car was shockingly fast and he could drive it sideways for way longer than I felt comfortable. After riding in that car I'll have to buy one someday.
