And I bought a Cayenne red '97 Toyota 4 Runner SR5 with a rare 5 speed.

I know,I know why did I go with an SUV and give up a fast AWD car? I just wanted something different since I've always owned cars (with the Eclipse it was sooo easy to own 'em too :D ) and I've never owned a truck plus I wanted to take a break from the drag scene and buy something else for the strip in a few years.

I do plan to still hit the final 2 Club Clashes with the new toy and see what it runs bone stock.
I do have mod plans for it by spring but and while I can't afford the supercharger I do plan on a K&N,headers,X over pipe and cat back exhaust and see what it runs next year. (probably a whole two tenths :p )
Then I'll probably need a clutch.

I do have some initial plans as soon as I get it. I've already ordered some rice...uh,I mean appearance enhancements which include clear corners and turn signal lenses plus some useful items like a bug/rock deflector, real floormats including one for the cargo area and some driving/fog lights and in a couple months some bigger rubber probably the cliche BFGoodrich Radial T/As.

So,I guess most of you guys I was previously whoopin' at the strip can now return the favor. :)

Sweet - I like the 4Runners, I think they look nice. Family friend of mine has one, that is red as well and 5sp, it's pretty cool truck. Wait. Rare 5sp? Hope my friend didn't sell it! :D

After my civic got stolen I bought a 65 Dodge truck and now I have a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, it feels good to have something different than the usual.

I just wanted a vehicle that didn't require a ton of TLC,premium gas and one with a little more comfort.

Don't show me that stuff.

I'm already too aware of the regular TRD supercharger that can net about 280 crankhorse.

I didn't think she was old enough to grow hair down there. I wanted to be Madonna on stage during that kiss tho. ;)

congrats paul on the new ride. i so want to sell my car right now to buy a new f-250 power stroke, I really can care less about going fast these days. Maybe ina year or two I will buy something fast, but for now something different woudl be cool. I guess the jetta is okay I almost have it paid off.

The strip was just sucking up too much $$$ and time and I like something that is a little more relaxing to drive;the Eclipse was very hard to drive slow and 100mph (120mph also) was just too easy to obtain and was an easy target for the cops.

I do like not having to worry so much about potholes or speedbumps in the road and a little off roading will be a nice change of pace.

Seems to me that you are just gonna dump a bunch more money into this ride. Look at all the stuff you have planned for it right now.
I don't think it matters what car you own, cars will always be money pits.

I realistically won't be doing power mods and I won't be thrashing on it and won't even come close to how much the Eclipse has cost me over the last 8 years.

Even the full exhaust/headers will run less than a turbo replacement for a DSM costs and I won't be replacing a clutch every couple of years.

All car are money pits but this one won't be as deep.:)

Plus the 4Runner will attract alot less attention and people won't be revving on me at every light.
