Since I'm finally getting paid again. Was wondering what I should get for my car. I get paid every 2 weeks about $550.

Some new wheels? Was hoping for 16s
Some turbo parts?
A different head? (it's non vtec, might go ls/vtec)
A new clutch?
Better headlamps?
Or just save up for something else?

SAVE for the turbo. Go turbo man

Turbo would be cool.. especially on an LS engine - but would cost easily three times as much as that paycheck. An LS/VTEC is gonna cost more than one paycheck. I dunno what your future plans are. Upgraded headlights and new clutch would be cool - what do you have done to the car right now?

Well I meant to just buy the head for the ls/vtec.

I only have a short shifter, CAI, and axleback exhaust. I haev coilovers but no good wheels or shocks to put them on.

It's slow....

Buy me a turbo.

P.S. I get paid at least four times a week.

Mario

Save for turbo - it'll be such a nice upgrade, you'll love it. Do like a nice $2000 setup, midrange fuel management. Push like 200hp on stock internals and have fun. Save up the paycheck for it. Buy the manifold now, buy the turbo next, then just start piecing it together. :)

I get paid everynight a work minus wage.

Ive got a GSR head but it might need a new valve job. If that head wont work, i might be parting out my car soon and i could sell you my B16 head. Just let me know.

everyday you work because you get tips. grrrr.

Do you get good money because I was looking to do that when I go to Boulder. But I heard you have to have a clean record.

And 95gsrb18c. I was going to do a 5 angle valve job anyway. How much?

why buy manifold first mario?

Well, for the ludes you have to get them custom made... the place I may go with has a 1 month turnaround time. I dunno how it is with your car (I think you have an Integra from what I've caught on... your specs in the profile are a bit skewed :)).

djet820
09-15-2003, 10:38 PM
what's the bare minimum I need to have to run a turbo?

STIBungy
09-15-2003, 10:47 PM
Buy my wheels! :D

stu
09-15-2003, 11:53 PM
Bare minimum? Hmmm, I would say...
Manifold
Turbo (internally gated so yo ucould use one from a junk yard.)
Piping
Oil lines
Fuel Pump
FMU
Fuel Pressure Regulator

I think that would do it, but personally I'd ditch the FMU, get injectors and do the AFC hack or whatever (I think it works beter with a 3 bar map senor).
Get an intercooler, an external wastegate, and a blow-off valve.

What's wrong with it? I know about the oil problems and all that. My friend has his done and it's been going strong for 40000 miles. :D I don't need to take jokes from a "band" geek hehe ;)

And stu, how much do you think that would all cost?

I have a 91 teg.

TedR719
09-16-2003, 04:54 PM
Do you live with the folks? If so I would save up some money and put a good down payment on a new car. If I could do it all over again thas what I would do. Unless you have alot of payments.

AS far as the Teg would go what are you looking to get out of the car?

You freaky. :D

Anyways, I wouldn't go with a kit... build it yourself. If you can do an LSVTEC right, then I'd do that. :)

Just a drag kit alone wont get you into the 10s. You'll need to spend a heck of alot more money building the engine up to take higher boost.

out of curiousity, how much boost do you think your run of the mill stock block B or even D series engine could handle if Honda made a closed deck design? Everything else should remain the same regarding pistons, rods, compression, alluminum block, etc. The only thing different I'm guessing would be that there is a lot more metal behind the piston sleeves. Would this eliminate the water passages in the block, or am I thinking of something different?

im sorry but you will never run tens and if you do you wont be using it on the street i think you base most of your import knomledge off F&F honstly i can belive you said you expect to run tens that just blows my mind RICER
but if and when you come back to reality with your cars future performance check www.homemadeturbo.com i know its mostly for CRX's but there is a lot of good info on custom setups

stu
09-18-2003, 04:12 PM
He could run tens in that car, I just don't think that he knows how much work it'd take. Although I don't think he was actually serious.

2genCRX
09-19-2003, 02:13 AM
i know the possibilities of a DA teg but i doubt he will be turning that in to a all drag spe car and i do see you emphsis on could

djet820
09-19-2003, 11:52 AM
lol. I was just joking about the tens. Basing it off of F&F? I'm still learning about cars so I'm just trying to see what I can do. I'm sorry I'm not the guru of all cars and know everything about them. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Did I go to school with you, how do you know all koreans? Thru church, you parents?

I actually like printer boys attitude. he stays calm and elaxed about everything and he openly admits not knowing everything about cars. Good work printer boy. That's more than I can say for myself. I love to argue, and that's not a good thing.

djet820
09-20-2003, 07:47 AM
lol thanks thrice. And ted, I know all koreans. I knew you through a friend of a friend of a friend haha. Actually that's how I came to this board. And I'm going to save up my money to buy a turbo kit.

djet820

Ok so I've been looking around. I was just looking around and on ebay they have the manifolds. Can those be trusted and it's externally gated not internally.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2433060152&category=33742

Any ideas on that?

2genCRX
09-21-2003, 02:19 PM
wow thats cheap as dirt !

djet820
09-21-2003, 02:24 PM
So do you think that's a good deal because i'm going to bid on it.

stu
09-21-2003, 04:04 PM
DON'T BID ON THAT MANIFOLD!! It will crack and then you'll have to buy a new one and then end up spending more anyway. Just do a search on h-t for "Spark/SS" manifolds and you'll see what I mean.

djet820
09-21-2003, 08:52 PM
what about the turbo?

edit: After reading around I found that the manifold does break easily. But they said it's pretty fixable if you already know about it.

2genCRX
09-23-2003, 01:37 AM
did you bid on it ? or what ?
as for that manifold cracking a aquantince of mine bought an OBX manifold off ebay for 200 or so and the flange for the wastegate snaped off when we were test driving it HAHA that dude's turbo setup was GhEt0 to the extreme y0

djet820
09-23-2003, 04:08 AM
Yeah I placed a bid on it. If the manifold is that bad, I'm thinking about reselling it on ebay but keeping the turbo. cant go wrong for a manifold and turbo for only $320. now if it goes past $350 I'm not bidding.

THRICE
09-23-2003, 08:34 AM
I hope for your sake you don't get the shaft on that printer boy. Ebay can be a pretty dangerous place sometimes. That turbo could be totally shot and you will never know until you go to use it.

I just bought 3 items off of ebay for my H22A swap coming up. I should be getting them in 5-7 days. I will let you know how they turn out. I always check the sellers feedback to make sure that they have a reputation of sell items that are in whatever condition they are saying they are in. Also I check to see if they have sold many of the same types of items. Here is what I got...

1. P13 JUN ECU
2. 4-2-1 Headers
3. Lowering springs

djet820
09-23-2003, 03:48 PM
Yeah, I check their feedbacks too.

And the quote in your sig doesn't make sense.

"Those who try, will fail
Those who do not try, will never know"

But see, they do know they're going to fail, so they don't try. :)
