I currently own a '95 Accord LX. My plan over the next 6 months to a year is to swap the engine with the H23A from the Accord Euro-R. For now all I got is a short air intake. My current OEM ehaust is about to fall off from rust and I figured that it is perfect timing to get a new exhaust. So I have 2 questions...

Question 1:
I I buy a new exhaust, will I have to buy another new one once I swap the motor? I am not planning on doing the headers and exhaust, but exhaust only.

Question 2:
I am wanting to go with the Mugen Sport Exhuast (aka. Twin Loop), but as far as I know it is only supported on the prelude engine and not the accord. Any thoughts on a new exhaust that will give performance and decent sound without the ricer feel?

This is my first post...hope to see some of you in Boulder...

Welcome to HAI.

Whatever catback exhaust you get, you'll still be able to use after you do the swap.

If you get a header, I'm not sure if you'll still be able to use it although some F and H series parts are interchangeable.

As far as which types of exhausts, that's a personal preference there. I like the quiet ones like the Apexi RS/WS. Even though the gains arent as much as other exhausts out there, it doesnt attract attention. To me, N1 type exhausts are ricy due to the loudness of them.

Your profile says that you live in Northglenn. I live in Federal Heights. We'll probably pass each other sometime, if not already.

Any reason for the h23a...? Friend of mine did an h22a in his Accord, and was pretty sweet.

Yea, do a catback exhaust and should have no problems with the engines, since the f and h series are nearly identical.

I would actually get a shop to custom make you an exhaust, like a 2.25" or 2.5" would be awesome. Have them do a cheap high-flow cat, and a 3" dual tip exhaust to keep a nice sleeper look. :)

Well the H23A is less common then the H22A, which would make my ride different from the other H22 swaps.

Yeah, I am in Northglenn...check out the pic of my ride in the gallery...maybe you've seen my ride.

I do agree, the h23a would be cool... maybe you could do an h23VTEC? That would be different. :D That or turbo the h23a... both would be a nice option. :)

i would personally go with the H22 or do H23 VTEC like some others mentioned. I dont know what your goals are 1/4 mile, but you can get alot farther with the H22. Just my $0.02

How about an F20B? Lighter than an H22, definitely a rarity.

What are the specs of the F20B??

F20B- 200hp, 145lb-ft of torque, 11.0 CR, and its about $3500. H22A- 200hp, 161lb-ft of torque, 10.6 CR, and is about $2200.

Do the math and the H22 is a better swap.
