problems after new head install....

ok, i finally got the B16A2 head put on my car and now im having some problems keeping it running. I start it up and its really loud and obnoxious. The idle bounces up and down real rough and then the car will just shut off. It also is blowing quick bursts of smoke from somewhere under the hood, but i cant see because im in the car. Sorry if im not too clear about this. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be? -TIA

Did you remember to adjust the valves, do the timing? Most importantly, are the cam gears lined up properly with the crank pulley?

yea, everything is lined up perfectly. I took my time and made sure it was all good and its still having problems. Im totally lost on what to do.

It sounds like either your cam timing is off, or there is a valve or two not closing. If you're sure that you the cam timing correct, have a leak down test done.

Yup, sounds like the cam timing is off. Make sure you're going by the correct mark for the crank position... when it's at the mark, the cams should be dead on, and a nail or something will drop right in the holes.
