So, funny thing happens today. Just driving along, next thing you know, I can't put it into any gears easily. I have to shove the clutch all the way down and force it into any gears. So when the car's off I can put it into the gears still, which kind of tells me that the tranny's ok. I think I have to get a new clutch. Any confirmations on this?

Yeah I was thinking about upgrading, but I don't want to spend more than like $250 or so on it. Anybody got a hookup?

yea well a stock clutch will cost you just as much to get fixed as getting an upgraded one. My first stock clutch cost me about $800 with labor and my ACT was about the same price... Just something to think about.

You can get it done for under $800 dollars. Just buy an ACT from Ted (hy-brid) and then have Tobi (HONDAGHANDI) install it for you. If you use your old flywheel and need it resurfaced, it will take Tobi two days, or if you provide a new one, it will only take a couple of hours; but will be more as well.

Hmm well I can do the work myself, but if anybody wants to help out or something they're more than welcome to. I'm probably gonna end up changing my timing belt and water pump as well. Might as well go ahead and do that since it's gonna be in the garage anyways right? I'm hoping to find a good clutch for around 250-300, so if anybody sees anything be sure to let me know. Thanks guys. Oh and I checked 247 for a clutch kit, didn't list anything for Acuras, weird.

Ok so well here's some updated info. I was trying to drive the car again today, well messing with the clutch and stuff. I guess what happened was that the top of the pedal assembly itself broke and was not holding the pedal up high enough anymore for the clutch to engage/disengage anymore. So tomorrow I'm taking it down to my garage and I'm gonna lay down some thick welds and show it to not break on me again. Thank god because with my income lesser than my outgo these days I didn't really want to pay for a clutch. But damn in a sense I was hoping for a new clutch too.

How much does a clutch install usually cost?

I don't know what it costs since I usually do that kind of stuff myself. I would imagine about 2-300 for parts and 2-400 for labor depending where you take it?

If you plan on putting in a new clutch, i would like to come learn/help in any way possible. I have a feeling that my clutch is on its way out and getting some hands on would be sweet.

Yeah I probably won't be getting the clutch for another little while Ted. That is one hell of a deal though. I put the clutch pedal back in after I welded it back to the bracket and everything is fine again. I'm gonna go and buy another clutch pedal assembly just because I don't know how well the welds will hold and I don't want this shit happening to me again. I'll probably be in the market for another clutch in another month or two though.
