Ok, I just bought a B&M short shifter because I heard it has the shortest throw. I know just the shifter itself will work but in the book it says that I should get a better shift linkage or something like that, does anybody know where I can find it? I looked everywhere on their site and couldn't find anything. Yes, it's a dumb n00b question.

never heard of needing to replace the shift linkage. Many have replaced the stock rubber bushings with polyeurathane ones, though.

you dont have to replace the linkage, they're just yankin your chain to get you to spend more money.

Yep, just the short shifter is all you need... shift linkage is a load of bull.

Oh ok, that's what I thought, whew. Now about those bushings, do they help at all and how much are they?

they're like $20 bucks or so. They really tighten up the feel of the shifter. I got them on my crx, I like them.

they may mean the rubber bushing at the end of the linkage. where they attach to the tranny.

not sure about your car, but i know on DSMs you can replace them with skateboard wheel bearings to make the shifts more solid.
