i just receved my brand new hks hi power cat back exhaust system and a small spot has been worn to the bear metal. i try to fix that by simply covering it w some high temp paint. i had a little over spray so i wipe it off and it took off the factory paint with it!!! so i take it all off and now have to fix a big spot.why did it do that!?what kind of paint can i use? plz hurry.....gotta get thta exhaust on quick! :)

That's wierd, that high temp paint should work just fine...I can't tell you any ideas without actually seeing the exhaust.

I painted my muffler black with just some high temp paint you find at any local auto parts store.

i would just take all the paint off now....and then repaint it....make sure to give it plenty of time to dry too...

How is it holding up? I'm thinking about painting my entire exhaust black when I redo it here, but I fear that it'll flake and look shitty eventually.

High-temp paint need some heat to cure all the way too.

I got some flat black high temp paint from checker for my exhaust heat shield and its been on there for a couple weeks and still looks just like when I put it on. I'm sure it would work just as good on the exhaust
