Who has the fastest D-series powered Hondas in Colorado? N/A, turbo'ed, and nitrous injected included.

I BLASTED a 16.2 in my friends 92 CX....he ran a 16.7.

best time so far on boost is 15.7

MADEinJAPAN

What mods on the CX?

I should be in the high 14's, once I break in my motor, get an alignment, and some tires. I hope at least.

CXhatchboy520
08-16-2003, 10:16 PM
Yeah, really. The thing had to have mods. Mine can barely even get up to 60 in 10 seconds.

exciv2000

My best so far was 15.3. I should be in the mid-high 14s with a bigger shot of nitrous, hondata, and better traction/60 ft. time.

I've ran a 15.3....with i/h/e stage 3 cam, fuel pressure regulator, stage 2 clutch, short shifter, vtec controller, edelbrock intake manifold, throttle body. But that wasn't in Colorado....I loce sea level....I'll have to run it at bandimere when i get back in september, before the new motor goes in

I know a guy running a fully built SOHC in the low 13s

ooooh, ok. thought it was turbo'ed

TheBlackKnight
08-18-2003, 05:49 AM
yeah 13s would be slow with turbo or n2o....i was
impressed the first time I saw him run...

exciv2000
08-18-2003, 08:52 AM
I'm on a stock block/head and should be in the high 13s at sea level.

TheBlackKnight
08-18-2003, 11:21 AM
what else do you have done?

exciv2000
08-18-2003, 12:31 PM
JRSC @ 8 PSI, 35 shot of nitrous, drag radials, I/H/E/Cat, VAFC, J&S Ultrasafeguard V2, map controller. That's about it. That with a full interior minus spare tire and jack.

TheBlackKnight
08-19-2003, 08:57 AM
yeah should be near 13s......if you ever want to test come look me up in cali.

andyman97
08-19-2003, 05:11 PM
I'm hoping with my setup I should be able to hit mid-high 13's.
There's a guy in Cali with the same kit but he has air-air ic and a lower grade turbo that ran a 13.6 on 9 psi at 3000 ft.

TheBlackKnight
08-20-2003, 06:46 AM
like I said if anyone wants to do a run out to Cali I am getting a house in september and there's two good tracks close to here....

If that's my buddy Tom, then he has nitrous too. I think that's what he ran that day.

In our project CRX, the best time with our ZC (just wait before you yell DOHC) is a 14 flat. But the motor we're putting in next is a fully built SOHC and will be running about 20psi, so we'll see what that runs, should be fast as hell

14 flat? I thought that thing was running 15s for a while this year, could be wrong.

Anyways, I've got a friend located in Oceanside and a couple of buds up near Sacremento that I'd probably hang out and race with the next time I go to Cali.

Look at my other recent thread I started in this forum, there're pics of it in there. Basically t3 housing turbo with 60 trim compressor, equal length header, air-water intercooler with 1.5 gallon tank capacity and alcohol injection into the tb.

At the last IDRC it ran 14 flat on slicks. Before that it was running 14.7ish

Matt (ZCspeed.com) is running mid to high 13's in a stripped hatch all motor(with his 2 step. right now its broke so hes runnin low 14's). The engine is a ZC.

Actually ZC is considered a D series, so thats included as well. Also the D16A1 in athe 86-89 Integra counts too. I just want to see where I stand with my ZC which runs 13.5-13.7 depending on the track, PMI or Bandimere.

Well Here's what I've done so far...

Stock internal ZC boosting 6psi from a T-25 and stock clutch...

http://www.thezcresource.com/gallery/albums/Bryson/front.jpg

15.4 @ 98mph
2.6 60ft's

Heres my new setup...:D

Precision SC50 with .63turbine
Lovefab custom made manifold
2.5"-3" dp no cat
Full-Race intercooler
Tial 38mmHP wastegate
Tial BOV
2.5" IC piping
full SS T bolt clamps and Turbohoses.com couplers
ZDyne with 450cc's
Quaife'd ZC tranny (rebuilt)
Moderatly gutted
many other things that excape my mind

I am going to run 12psi of boost on the motor...which should be good for 250hp...I will use 24.5X8X13" slicks to hopefully get into the 12's.

Keep in mind this is all on the stock motor. This stock motor is basically just there so I could build the turbo setup and test it before installing the built motor. If all goes as planed, I should be done with the new motor next season. My goal is to put down over 400hp (not to mention be the fastest D series in CO, if not Honda)

Brysons setup is awesome... I saw it last weekend....

I went for a couple rides on his previous setup... and damn it was fast... much fast than what he ran at the track

i also raced him in my brothers modded TSI, and I would smoke him off the line, but at 75 he would pass me like I was standing still....

god I cant wait to have the shit scared out of me when the new turbo is running.... I think i'll bring my helmet :)

o, and props to Bryson  awesome setup :PIMP:

Looks nice, congrats. Maybe its just me but I don't really consider the ZC a true D-series engine since it's got two cams, but whatever :)

What model CRX is that SI or DX?
By the way if you already havent done so, throw a Integra ECU together with that ZC. It will put your revs up to 7500 and you will get alot more out of your motor with those kind of revs.

Bryson
08-28-2003, 12:48 PM
...The CRX is DX...

and by the way, I already mentioned what ECU I use...^^^ "ZDyne"

I have the rev limter set at 7500.

Thanks for the props Seth!

I don't exactly see why you don't consider the ZC to be a D series though...same bottom end but just with 2 cams... I do however see why you wouldn't consider it to be a SOHC D series...

people just need to start saying "who has the fastest SOHC?" instead of something like "who has the fastest D series"...if you don't consider a ZC to be a "D series".

Mark_H
08-28-2003, 12:58 PM
This would have easliy been the fasted D Series SOHC car in Colorado, but my buddy got broke and sold the CRX. I think on the few shakedown runs he actually made, he was in the 11's with alot of issues. I don't recall what #'s he was putting down, but he was boosting 28psi or so:)

12's on 12 psi....I dono, that sounds like a pretty high guesstimate, bryson but if you can pull it, mad props to you. That is the craziest header I've ever seen.

well considering other pep's setups with the same turbo...(a guy made 300whp on 15psi with just a Z6, and ran an 11.8) I should be able to make enough HP to get into the 12's.

12psi from this turbo is a lot of boost! Considering the turbo it self is good for over 450hp.

Mario
08-29-2003, 02:42 PM
Hey Bryson, that's definitely a nice setup you got there.. 12's would be awesome in street form, but I think that in reality you will prolly hit 13's... still a fast car, will be able to whoop on a LOT of cars.

Bryson
08-29-2003, 03:00 PM
Thanks for the compliment!...Hey are you on theZCR?

we'll see...I will keep pushing the car until it breaks or I hit 12's...this engine is after all...just a "test bed". =)

Mario
08-29-2003, 03:04 PM
Yea, I am the Mario on ZCR... I was like this (holds up fingers) close to getting a CRX... but I just decided to keep my Prelude and turbo it. It'd be cheapier and easier in the long run... plus I may be doing AutoX... which the Preludes are known for. :)

I have a stock internal D15z1 taht ran a 14.9@93mph and that was with blown rings in the #3 cylinder. The compression across the board was 125,125,90,125. and that was at 8psi in a Si crx. I have time slips to prove it.
