I bought a OLD sail boat, and it needs some love... It looks pretty oxidized, and my jack ass nieghbor hit it wiht some stain while spraying his fence... Any suggestions?

Thanks.

If the boat is just painted than you can usually treat it the same. I've never done one but I know it's common for detailers to do them. If it's fiberglass there is some special products you can use. I got an email from CMA this week and boats are the focus of it. I could forward it to you... has some pretty good info.

Probably just needs some abrasive and a buff to get the oxidation, then maybe some clay or a deep cleaner for the stain.

Boats can be a PITA if theyre oxidized. The paint on boats is a gel coat, therefore you cant use traditional paint polishers/cleaners on it. Your best bet would be to call up an RV retailer and ask what they recommend to remove oxidation and clean the RV's (also gel coated).

As for the stain, I would try and use some low odor mineral spirits and a towel. All you have to do is get a little on the towel and try to work it out.

Hope this helps!

not all RVs and boats are gel coated.
