#45- Areosmith - "I don't want to miss a thing"?

Replace it with "Dream On" and I'll believe these voters weren't on crack.

I'm pretty sure that Dream on is older than 1979 isn't it?

But using your own analogy Eminem is a very influencial rap artist who has transformed hip hop, and brought it to the forefront.

I don't see him as influencial. He's just copying what others have done before him. The most original thing about him is that he's found a way to be shocking without being a Gangsta Rap artist.

As far as proppelling hip hop to the forefront, it's been there for years now. IMO he rode the wave in rather than started it.

Hip Hop was in the limelight because of bitches, hoes, g-dogs, and killing cops.

Eminem - Sells more records cause he raps about killing his Girlfriend, mom and shooting paintballs at ICP, and his biggest fan, stan. Something that white suburban kids love. and inner city o-g's, like too.

I do think his novelty will wear off though.

50 cent will be this years wrapper. :D

Thanks for the list Pat!!

my concerns with it are as follows......

My biggest concern is #38. london calling is not the Clash's best song, not by a long shot. Train In Vain is by far their best and should have been in the top 10 if not top 5!!!!!!

#4 is a very good song i am not suprised by its placement.

#3 is wayyyyyy too high and should be replaced with "patience"

#2 sucks, plain and simple

#1 is too high also

#7 should be replaced with Purple Rain, awesome song that cant be ignored.

#23 should be higher

#32 Jeremy????? how the fuck can they leave out "Black"???? Pearl Jams "Black" should have been in the top 20.

#48 is THE greatest hip hop song ever!! should have been in the top 15 at least.

#49 is all wrong. should have been replaced with "stone in love" and "faithfuly" should have been on the list and in the top 50.

#66 should be higher

#92 should be higher

#93 where the fuck is "ringfinger"?????

#96 there should have been at least 5 beastie boys's songs on here.

They really snubbed the Beastie Boys bad.

I don't see how you could not pick Smells like Teen Spirit as #1 though. I mean everything in the entire music industry changed in a few short weeks after that song was released.

Why don't they just rename this top 100 most popular songs in the last 25 years? That is all it is.
