at heartland park topeka in kansas, it costs 10 to race
and 10 for tech and they have some of the fastest times
in the country have been set there i was told it was thirty to
run and 25 for tech for the year, is that true damn that hurts
i just want a couple slips so i know what i got:cool:

I was thinking the same thing.

I was just at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, TX a few weeks ago and it was only $15 for the night. Gates opened at 5:30 and closed at 11. Every Thursday night is Sport Compact Night.

I'm not a big time drag racer, but both tracks look well maintained, nice faucilities....

Yes - bandimere is expensive. But it's also a world class dragstrip.

I had a real hard time paying $25 for 3-4 runs during T&T nights, and now I believe it's gone up to $30. Screw that...

I am probably one of the few here who has raced at Topeka. The track is nice, the weather sucks, and it cost just as much as Bandimere.

I'm sure I have a canceled check from the 2001 and 2002 ET finals if you would like to see them.

But if you drive to Kansas to save a few bucks...be my guest.

River sity raceway is cheaper but the track is not as nice, the bathrooms are worse (if you can beleive that) and the pits are small. Houston (baytown) is about the same as S.A. and cheaper to race. If youre a good racer you might win your money back on occasion. Get a few side bets going on some races and you might make some money. Aint that right Dustin? I think you owe me a quarter still.

I heard, that sucks der Vang. Wheres my fn cookie?

John need any assistance? I seem to be working on only muscle cars this week. Its a relaxing break from all the nothingness of owning and working on a Honda. You know, on the trailer, off the trailer, rain, on the trailer, bah blah blah.

Guys read the above thread, we have a chance to get some stuff done specifically for us sport compact/import guys, lets take advantage of it.

As far as bandimere being kind apricey, yeah it can be, but when ya consider that 2 years of racing the saturday et series is cheaper than 6 months of sr22 insurance in most cases, its worth it.

While the cost comparison is very valid, the problem is more than just cost.

It's availability.

Bandimere is closed for half the year even though we all know that our weather during the "closed" season has many days where racing would be great.

I use to go for test and tune every week, but this year I can't afford it. I would rather save my $30 a week and spend it on performance.
