2 years ago I, blew a piston ring on a 1990 Mits. Eclipse AWD. Since then I did a complete overhaul. Every thing from JE pistons to titanium retainers was used. The only thing stock is the cams and crank. Since then, the car would randomly sputter at high boost and RPM’s. Eventually the car sputtered all the time. After careful inspection of the top end, I noticed that one of the double springs were broken. Apparently the outer spring wedged it’s self inside the inner spring. This caused the valve to not close completely. Webcam discontinued that product and replaced it with a different one. Unfortunately, Webcam denies any responsibility in replacing the faulty product.

Anyone who purchased Webcam double springs for DSM 4G63 from 2000-2001 should beware!!!! Bob at Paragon had the same thing happen to his car.

Luckly, Paragon Tuning was able to get me one replacement spring.;) Kudos

The DSMers have been complaining about this for (literally) years. Sorry you got burned...

And - the web cams themselves were bullcrap too. The lobes wore down REAL fast, taking stuff out of spec in a matter of months.
