Ok, so yea the bolt that connects my lower control arm to the damper fork is frozen. Do I have to replace the whole LCA, or is there another way to do it? On the older Preludes, the fork is hella tiny and the CV Axle just doesn't come out of it, you have to remove the LCA too. :( I would have a shop do it, but I am really broke right now and need to replace the CV Axle as cheap as I can. Any insight is definitely appreciated.

take the band off the inner joint adn take the cup off of the axle. It will fit through the fork without the inner joint assembled. You will have to do the same thing to the new axle to get it in too,.

You can also try PB blaster, that shit works wonders.
Spray some on there, let it sit, tap it with a hammer, spray some more, then try.
Or if you can get a little breaker bar in there, like a jack handle or something.
Just use the right socket so you don't strip it.

Tobi - Ok, I'll take a look at that... how hard/how long is it take the axle apart so I can do this?

tdjb-potc - the nut was already rounded when I bought the car, so that's why. A friend and I tried to drill out and hammer the bolt out, but it still did not move. That thing is in there like stink on poo.

I'd use an impact wrench, cut off disc, hammer, penetrating oil, and some elbow grease :D

We used a cut off disc (something similar anyways), hammer, and penetrating oil and it still didn't come out. :o Ohh, and can't forget the drill too. :p

So how exactly do I take the take the cup off the inner joint? Is it just something obvious, or is there a certain way? I would look at it, but I don't have the new axle with me righ now.
