Hey everyone let's start planning the next HUGE HAI get together. I thought castle rock was a good compromise so the springs peeps could make it up as well. I say we set the date as Sunday June 22nd somewhere in the castlerock area. That way people can have time to plan ect so we get a good turnout. Last time was a blast so lets get on this and make it happen!! Oh yea and we NEED to have a drive after this time.

I was still planning on setting something up once I felt good enuf to do it. That time should be VERY soon fortunately! Since the roads up and around Estes are open now...its definately about that time of year. I even took my car up there last weekend and got hailed on! w00t! The roads are reasonably clean however...not nearly as much gravel and shit up there as I expected. A big meet would be cool...but we just need someone to plan the thing, and enuf in advance to make it work well. I'd like to meet a lot of the new members too..I think we have potential for a HUGE freaking group. Hence the problem with planning it and a drive after. Ever try and plan a drive for 100ish cars? yikes.. :)

Mike you did a good job last time (the first luncheon). Tobi did a good job when the S2000 group did a charity event. We had about 25+ cars with rally points with prizes, etc.
We can plan a meet with stops along the way. That way for those that get lost or caught at a light can catch up.
Just a few ideas.

if were goin to go for a drive we need to have it at a time when theres no traffic, atleast i think. That is if were goin to rail, if were just cruise then traffic is ok..

I have two supra-friends in Castle-Rock, they're old men like me, but if you don't mind that... :D They're phat-ass rides too. Danny's is a red sp-60, and Brian's is a silver wingless (clean-shaved too), with bling Agle-Struess wheels. Oh, BUT schweeeeet! Heheh.

Who was the one who organized the last meet? Mike? Bryan?
I'm down to put things together but some help from someone who has done it before would be great.
Thanks,
Eric

Ok well guys I think we should plan this one WAY in advance to make sure it is at least as big as the last time if not bigger. When is a good time for people? What kind of food does everyone want to eat?

Stu and I will definitely go. Pretty much anything/time is good for us, but especially Sundays. We eat anything, too. If you need help planning, let me know, I'd be happy to help. PM me or something.

Castle Rock isn't too far from home. I'll see about going down.
Pretty much anytime, as long it isn't too late at night, is okay with me, at least for now. Still looking for a job.

I set up the first meet down there, the 2nd one was one of the CoSprings guys...I dont remember for sure now. Its just a matter of making sure we have room, parking, get a solid idea for the number of people, and letting the resturant know that number. When you get a BIG group, it really gets more difficult. Even finding a place that BIG is somewhat of an issue..its harder than you might think. :)

For the drive after you guys could go the backway from castlerock to littleton.
TheJackal
06-10-2003, 05:10 PM
my input:
sunday
-eat at 1pm (the lunch rush will be over for the resturant)
-meet at diff areas (ex. promenade, co springs, littleton) at ~11
-give us time to chat when we get there in the parking lot before we eat.
-Decide what kind of drive, and make sure the cars are lined up equally, like the guys that like to go fast and rail through the moutains up front and the guys that want to take it easy in the back
- have stopping points
:D

good idea. The food was good and it was big enough to fit all of us crazy guys. Anyone have any objections to this idea?

Is there an age minimum to the brewery? And where exactly is it located?

I'm down, my car should be running soon. I vote for Sunday's as well. Has anyone been to the rockyard brewery in westminster (near amc24). During the day no one will mess with our cars and also there should be plenty of parking.

with this many people going you should really find a large empty area on the outskirts of town, cops will most certainly show if you do it near the middle of town.

The cops didnt bother us at all in January with our first huge meet of the year. As long as no one is a jackass (burnin out, speeding through the lot, Bumpin their system excessivly loud) they wont bother us this time.

I dont think thats really the reason they left us alone personally. I saw some people doing ALL of those things that you mentioned..and there were definately police around. However, we had a large enuf, organized group, so the only people we were really disturbing in the parking lot was each other. The problem of all these things is finding a place that can feed that many people, has a BIG parking lot...and doesnt mind us being there. Its not really as easy as you might think..thats why they Rockyard has worked out well in the past. I'd work out some plans..but I'm not even sure I have a job right now...oganizing a big meet isnt the top priority. :(
