at this point im thinkin about it, much cheaper... just that it took me forever to find this car because of the 6 speed in my price range... rrrrrrrrrrrrr o well i got it done at boosthard and we had a gaurantee that the tranny would be good so ill just get another one. there was another one available along with this one. im sure mike will take care of me

Why? The supra is a FAST car, and that bigblock would just slow it down... :)

I wouldnt mind driving a stick, but not for an everyday thing, it will get annoying, automatics are nice, and dont have to worry about buying parts as much

yea well this tranny is bulletproof, just that you dont run them low on fluid which appears to be done on this one as well as mine, or just beaten on serverly.

and drivin in auto = aiming your car
driving a stick = fun and control

that is what I was thinking, and autos are pretty cool with turbo cars.

if I got a car that was strictly for the track I would probably get a stick, but everyday driver, easily go with an auto, my regal is turboed and automatic, its still a lot of fun to drive

If I got a car strictly for the track, I'd get an auto. For my street car, I like the manual thank you.

yea i guess its still fun to point the car and hit the gas..

:D

but why would you want a stick for the track? less consistant and usually slower unless a great driver

TheJackal

get a stick kostas is a sports car common. I used to think automatics were bomb, until i learned how to drive a stick. Oh and i dont give a shit about the drag strip and consistancy, you dont bracket race on the street.

Sell the Stoopra and go 0ld sk00l.

I'm sick of HIGH TECH cars that have a million stupid parts to break. HIGH TECH = stupid shit to break and go wrong. I want my '69 Firebird back. Goddamn it, I'm serious. My DSMs piss me off.

ill never go back to autos in a daily driver car. family cars, vans, trucks may have autos, but for a daily driver ill always have a manual. i dont see a point in having an automatic daily driver when manual is more powerful usually, is more fun to drive and costs less.

If the track is a 1/4 mile track then, yes a manual is not as consistent but how do you figure slower? I think it may depend on the car but automatics suck up more horsepower and are usually heavier. I also don't know of many fast auto DSMs being used as drag cars.

If I were building a track-only car, it'd be an auto. Much easier to race than a stick.

But it depends on which track you're building it for. Can't imagine myself going D3! D4! OD! Whoops D4! On a track like second creek.

I would go with a manual for a track car. First off it is pretty hard to completly destroy a manual tranny. Usually you can just rebuild it. Autos you can fuck up to the point where there is nothing left. That is just my .02 cents.

LeonZ
06-05-2003, 01:42 PM
manual all the way. too bad most of my friends cant drive one, no one can drive me home when im drunk.

Austin, no one engine brakes anymore, brakes have come a long way from the early days of racing so it is no longer neccesary.

Engine breaking elps a lot in snow

stu

Unless you are rally racing, you don't usually track race in the snow.

wtf is engine breaking?? downshifting?

alpha

I'd drive both. I learned to drive manual, just too fun. But auto is nice, just easier in traffic. I plan on having at least one of each.
