Just wondering what others are pulling for 60' times at Bandimere...? especially the under powered like myself...

This is my best run from the T&T on 5/28 (too bad it was 80+deg):

60'.....2.39
330'...6.98
1/8.....10.83
mph....63.60
1000'..14.15
1/4.....16.95
mph....80.4

I should be able to pull off a 2.2 (or less) - but a 2.39 is the best I've got for now :(

I case anyone else was there, mine's the white '98 Legacy 2.5GT - yes, it is a BIG 4 door/ 4banger :D

Thanks
Chad

I normally pull 1.8's in my GSX.

Try pumping up the pressure in your tires to at least 40 psi and launching at a higher RPM. Don't slip the clutch, just rev hard and side step it.

That should let you get a little spin and get your 60 foot times down. My rule of thumb is .2 off the 1/4 mile for every .1 you shave off your 60 foot times.

Yeah, AWD's are usually right around 1.8

I am pulling 1.8 to 2.0 on the 60 foot. I have a lighter flywheel and think that the lighter weight makes consistent 60 foot times harder. Less rotational inertia to work for me. But I probably get a benefit in the long run.

1.8's all the time for me. Need a 1.6 then I'll be happy :D

I pulled 1.7 - 1.8s on nitto 450 street tires in my 93 GSX, with the tires inflated to 32psi.

I just need to practice more :o . I think I am slipping too much, or giving too much gas too early. Either it bogs - and goes, or slips to around 5krpms and the clutch plays catch-up. And yes, I ran with 40+psi all around.
The 2.39 was with slipping around 4krpm.

I have been experimenting lately with "bliping" the throttle between 3,500-4,500 rpms instead of "holding" them around 4,500-5,000. it seems to come off better, with that slingshot feel.

anyhow, I don't think ANYONE could pilot my underpowered AWD to a 1.8 60' - -it would be awesome (and give me a ~16.0 ET) but I don't think it's feasible with my N/A power levels. That said, seeing as how FWD N/A cars up here are pulling 2.4 60', I Should be able pull off a 2.1-2.2. I think a new clutch would help me quite a bit... damn, a 2.1 would yeild me ~ 16.5

It would be nice to have a detailed "Mile High" 1320 list.

As I tell my kids, practice makes better. Get out there and launch, launch, launch...
