Sorry for the late notice - the track day is this Saturday. Lots of Zs, and other cars as well -- Porsches and BMWs show up, and there will be one WRX for sure. For non-ZCCC members the entry is $75, but that is for a guaranteed 1 hour + of track time. Here is the email I received...
Final call for our June 7th track event at 2nd Creek Raceway (1.7 mile, 9 turn racetrack near Denver International Airport).
We have room for about 10 more cars/drivers in this safety-controlled hotlapping event, and would be delighted to have you join us. You may register and have the technical inspection done on your car at the track on the 7th. Please be there by 7 a.m. to assure we are ready for the drivers' meeting at 8:30. The first run group (there are 4, based on experience and expected lap speeds) starts at 9:00.
We've been running these events twice yearly since 1990, and most participants really like the way it's organized and the diversity of cars and drivers we attract. In addition, $75 for one hour and 25 minutes of time on an exciting race track is a real bargain.
Why not join us?
cheers -

$75 is pretty steep. It's $60 for a 4 hour Test & Tune, and it looks like I can get in on a group rental for $40 next week.
Just my 2 cents...

Well, heres some change from your 0.02. :D
$75 is CHEAP for 90 minutes of track time, spread out over the day from 9am to 5 pm. That's 3 20 minute sessions and 2 15 minute sessions. It's hard to compare that to a T&T where you might get 10 runs for a total of 2-1/2 minutes of seat time?
And now that the day is over, I have to say that I had a total blast. The SleeperZ ran awesome. I got passed by some really good drivers in a pair of Vipers, one a trailer queen with slicks.
There were so many cool cars, I don't think I can list them all but here goes:
Viper GTS
Viper RT/10
Porsche 996
Porsche Boxter S
BMW M Coupe
BMW 325
brand new EVO
Subie WRX
2 Lotus Esprits
brand new Lotus Elan
68 Sunbeam Tiger (289 Ford aluminum V8)
Supercharged Camaro SS
5 Nissan 350Zs (red, black, gold, blue and white..)
EP 240Z
2 turbo'd 280Zs
2 twin turbo 300ZXs
many other 240Zs, 280Zs and 280ZXs
The weather was perfect, and we ran the course CCW.

10 runs for a total of 2 1/2 minutes!? Those are some amazing lap times! :D
And I got a lot more laps and especially time when I went to a T&T out there.

Sorry, thought you were talking about the dragstrip. I'm curious how you get more time for less money. The track costs a fixed amount to rent, and that's got to be spread around to the number of participants.

I'll have to check my camera, but I doubt it. Pretty sure I got one of the M-coupe and the Sunbeam. If I do, I'll see if I can post.
The Lotus' were/are slow.
I too had a great time with the Z. I only wish I would have been able to make it first thing in the morning and not have had to come at noon.
Hopefully will be able to take it out there some more soon.

I didn't know you were there Mudd. You should have introduced yourself... not that you would have known who I was, but oh well.
I'll see you at the strip anyway.
Didn't know you were there either.
I believe we have met before, at the Club Clashes @ Bandimere.
I was in a Burgandy Maxima then, have the Z now.

For a Test & Tune, it's run by the track's management for a fixed $60 for 4 hours, regardless of how many cars show up. For the possible rental this Friday at $40 a car, I have no idea how it's going to work, or how much time we'd have... all I know is that there's going to be mostly bikes out there.
And the Test & Tune that I went to before was part of the free week at the end of December, so there were a bunch of cars out there, but I still got more than enough time to completely destroy my brakes (you should have seen the smoke! ;UgH: ). If I did a regular T&T, the only differences are that I'd be $60 poorer and there would probably be less cars, but the track wasn't crowded on the free day, so it wouldn't really matter.
