Is the 96 a GS or a GS-T/GSX, if it is a GS, then no you can't, if it is a GS-T/GSX then it is very possible, you just have to get some different intercooler piping and reroute (sp) your oil and coolant lines

Its a GS,but i cant just take all the I/C pipes and stuff off and put it on the 96? well i would still have to get a new computer and stuff.

Next Question? Ok dip shit if there different engines, how come they have the same engine codes, one has a turbo, and one doesnt, very little differences, oil pan, computer,a few oil and coolant lines, but basically the same lay out.

THEY DON'T TOLLBOX, ONE IS A FUCKING 420A NEON ENGINE AND THE OTHER IS A FUCKING 4G63, HOW DARE YOU QUESTION MY SUPERIORITY?!

A 96 GS? With the 420a neon motor?

If it were me, I'd get rid of the car with the neon motor and find a car with a 4g63. Factory turbocharged motors are very stout, and take VERY well to pushing them up to around 400 crank HP. Trying to convince the neon motor that it likes to be forcefed would be a serious PITA.

However, if you insist on going down that road, google for Hahn Racecraft. They do turbo kits for the 420a motor.

90 Non turbo = 4G63 not 4G63T
96 GS = 420A :(

The answer is still "NO", if you could just throw a turbo onto a car like that, everyone would have one.

if you turbo a 2G N/A then the end result is basically an Overweight Neon. And the 420A cant take near as much boost stock as the beloved 4G63 can.

Not on the stock internals it can't. Not even close. The stock 4g63 can take between 25-30psi worth of 20g flow. The 420a can handle maybe 8, possibly 10psi worth of 20g flow. MAYBE. I sure wouldn't do that to my 420a motor, as I'm not a fan of replacing motors due to, well, you know...

90_DSM,

Below is the link for the most reputable turbo kit maker for 420A engines.
<http://www.hahnracecraft.com/auto/eclipse/eclipse.htm>

Also there is star performance kits that can be bought from online stores.

Yes, the 420A is similar to neon which uses same block, but there are differences such as the engine is mounted on opposite side, uses different head, the intake is in the back, and the exhaust is out in the front. Plus 420A is slightly more tuned for torque than the Neon's due to the weight of about 300 lbs.

90_DSM, just think that you got lucky buying a 2G NT because you won't have to worry about the infamous "CRANKWALK" that all 2G turbo owners are afraid of.

yeah, a non turbo 2g is like a really heavy NEON, but looks a lot better

lol, thats a stupid comment. If he bought a Turbo 2G he could do a 6 bolt motor swap for the same price or less as that kit costs. And crankwalk doesnt happen to EVERY 2G like some people make it out to happen. And he might not have to worry about the ever so ghey "crankwalk" but instead of how to really Beef up his 420A to handle more than 15PSI

Ok. "Yes - you can get a turbo kit for the 420a. No, your 'turbo kit' from a 1g DSM will not bolt onto the neon motor."

Better? :)

Batman, refer him to nabr and see how long it takes for him to get banned :)

Um, but yes anyways - I realize sometimes you just don't know engines and cars that well so you asked this question, I don't hold it against you. Basically everyone is telling you to go out and buy a 96 GSX or GS-T if you hate traction and sell the RS. Then you will have one of those cool turbo things, it will be from the factory, and you won't be rolling around in a car that needs tons of cash put into it when the neon engine breaks.

you dont have to haze the guy, big bunch of bullies;)

The 4g63 engine is one of the greatest engines to ever be manufactured (stock at least) like John said, it can take 30PSI...thats a lot of fucking boost. Boosting the little neon motor is not worth it. Just sell both cars and get a 2g TSI/GSX.

and another thing, Crankwalk isn't as common as people say it is.

The 4g63 is only 2nd to the 2jz-gte, from a guy who has owned & built both.

How old are you, and how long have you been around DSMs? |
