ok.......i want to orderer the b16a sir1 from hmotorsonline.com but it has a cable clutch. i called hasport and they make a kit to change the car into a cable clutch for $499. so its $499 + $1150 for the sir1 complete change over + 300 for the lsd + shipping and handling. dose all this make sense? the only concern i have is with the hydro and cable clutches........can i please have input on the subject.

i guess you have an eg, i'm just going off your sig here...

honestly, i'd save up for the hydro, it'll just make your life easier.
first off, those jdm cable trannies are famous for having the high rpm 3rd gear grind, it's just something you can't get past because of their age. second, with the newer b16 you'll get a little bump in hp. third, your car is obd1, so the ecu and electronics that come with that motor will be junk to you. you won't be able to plug in the ecu, distributor or fuel injectors and have them work right. fourth, a lot of people prefer the hydro tranny over the cable because they think it "feels" better. I've never really minded the fell the cable tranny has, but that's just me.
and fifth, the hydro tranny is so much nicer, you can upgrade gears without to much hassle, unlike the cable tranny.
