My GF went to Planet Honda and they said that they can't do it due to legal reasons. I imagine something to due with the refrigerant, but who to say it wasn't already there if I were to swap it out and get a recharge.
If anyone has any pointers, please enlighten me, I just want some opinions and I really havent looked at any service manuals yet to figure it all out.

The only legal reason I can think of is that it uses R-12 refrigerent instead of the newer R-134a stuff. It is illegal to refill R-12 in the United States if I remember correctly. You can get it converted to R-134a and refilled for ~$100... about the same price just to refill th R-12. Just some further information - they stopped using R-12 because it was hurting the OZone. R-134a is better at that perspective, but R-134a is not as cold as R-12.

some systems cannot be converted due to the extra stress put on teh compressor by the 134A. I think the d series motors are not the ones that apply to that rule though. Bring the car(s) by the shop Im sure we can figure something out.
