This thread has probably been discussed a million times before my time as a member, but I thought I would throw in my .02 cents anyways.

It seems to me that MOST people who own Honda Civics are descrimminated (sp) upon. I will admit that I am NOT a big fan of the Honda Civic with the acception of a few models, but just because I am not a fan does not mean I will automatically classify every owner of the Civic as a dolt. Everyday I see owners with bad taste from all walks of life. (Ford, Chevy, Honda, Toyota, etc...) As you all know there's kids who makes the import scene look bad with unpainted body kits and huge "serve no purpose wings" and there are kids with 5.0 Mustangs that have the same downsides. I guess what I am trying to say is that it is a damn shame to see EVERY owner of the Civic given hardly the credit they deserve because even though my girlfriend drives an ugly stock Civic and they are found on every street corner does not mean that the car itself does not have potential to run nice, and look nice. I noticed in another thread that Batman GSX mentioned that he would give credit to a 5.0 owner before a Civic owner anyday of the week. In most cases Batman, I agree with you completely. But I am not going to be bias about it because Civic owners who use their heads and do it right, deserve as much credit as a Mustang owner who uses his head and does it right too. So to all walks of life whether you are an Import lover or a Domestic lover, credit will be given where credit is due, and no one should be judged based off of what model car they own. Just my .02

I deal with theis ever day on my other websites. Everyone hates honda drivers because they assume they are ALL ricers. It's a bad reputation Honda has, and i'm not sure that it will ever go away. All I can do is try to point out the good points about honda's when they bring up conversations like that. I may not be a fan of some cars, but I still respect what people can do with them.

I couldn't agree with you more. The Civic is not by any means a racecar. It's these type of kids I think that give the rest of us Honda owners a bad reputation. The Civic, though it is not a race car, does have potential to be a very quick, and a very nice looking car. If done correctly.

The other thing is Exhausts. I have a full cat back exhaust system with 3" mandrel piping and a high flow cat. It is very loud. That's the thing that bothers me, people look at me like I am a ricer although my cat serves a purpose and will serve an even more important purpose one day as I hope to turbocharge my car. But when kids slap on $50 Folgers cans that do nothing more than make noise (which sounds more like a swarm of bees) it really cuts me deep. I think that's exactly why my signature says FUCK RICERS.

You have a 3" exhaust on a honda? Unless you just have $$ to burn, why? A 2.5" press bent exhaust has run cars into the 11s up here at 5800 ft ASL.

3" is way overkill, esp for a small N/A motor.

Well, because the exhaust that I decided on only came in size 3". I understand that 2.5 is more than enough for a four cylinder car, but 3" could not hurt, and did not cost more $$$. The motor that came stock with my car is not expected to stay forever.

because civic is more versatile, its basically en econo box that is cheap and can be made fast pretty easy and still get good gas milage at lower rpm's. plus it's honda's reliability vs. ford's. ill let you figure that one out.

95 vs. 95 there's really not that much of a performance difference between the two to begin with. At sea level a 95 Civic Si hatch will pull a low 16 high 15. The Mustang will be about a half second faster. Remember at that time the Mustang was making only 215 hp. For a car that big and marketed as a "fast" car, that sucks.

As for the 80's 5.0s, I just think they're ugly.

I don't dislike domestic cars per se (we have a Dodge in the family), but aside from their turbo deisel trucks I really don't care for anything Ford makes.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinions, quite frankly that's what makes the world go 'round. I know a lot of people hate anything with a Honda badge and that's fine for them. Personally, I like the way they drive. Even the slower ones are fun to toss around. Not to mention that they run damn near forever.

I try not to discriminate others by the car they drive. Unless they drive a Yugo and then they just plain deserve it. ;) Yes Civics suck adn yes some civic owners are base heads with an APC Visa but I can still waste em.

I would respect a quick Civic with a cool owner and no asinine cosmetic modifications. I have zero respect for the flashy car show types. Even if their car is fast I still don't think neon and body kits should be allowed. They all just look tacky. I am judgemental, opinionated, irratable and easily annoyed. No ammount of "they are just doing what makes them happy" will make me think they suck less.

And what do you know, most Civic owners put asinine cosmetic modifications on their cars. And then they try and race my Camry and lose. If I had my way any Civic owner that wanted to race my Camry would die a horrible painful death by being crushed by the useless forelimbs of a T-rex.

It's all about signal to noise ratio. Civics are pretty much, on average, owned by complete morons who don't deserve to live. DSMs are getting this way too.

Based off of history lessons I have learned it seems to me that the smartest of human beings are the ones that do the most harm. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say there is nothing inherantly wrong with Civics. They can pull 1.0Gs with a few suspension mods and good tires and they make about as much power as any of the competitors in that sector. Their failing, and this is the case with many cars that you see assclowns driving, is that they are cheap. Instead of finding their way into the hands of intelligent people they end up in the hands of high school kids and complete retards.

It's simple how it works. If the Civic had 60 more hp and cost 20K more it would be an Audi.

22 Civics counted. One was a riced out CRX, the rest were BONE stock.

1 riced Accord and 1 riced MX6 in addition to the CRX was all the rice I saw.

Highlands Ranch must have like an underground Altezza store somewhere - I'd say 75% of the Civic's at my school have Altezza's. At least that. Then you have to factor in other cars that have them too. It's soo sad. There is one Civic, it is a 1996 EX SEDAN, with 18's and altezzas. No drop, no exhaust, it looks funny as hell. Almost like a mini 4x4. A guy I know has a blue '00 Si with drop, lip kit, and your basic I/H/E.

I would have to agree with you in a sense but, the civic is a good portal to the import world, it is a great starter car for the average tuner. I have been working and tuning on civic and honda's for about ten years now and I really am quite bored with them, I am also tired of the people that don't have the means and research of civic's they just want a big fucking wing, big ass body kit and 20" chrome fucking rims and it isn't all Honda's or Civics but majority and majority rules right, so at he end of this year I will be getting rid of the swap I have and going back to stock or just selling the car all together and going with a Nissan 240, I feel after doing almost everything on Honda's that is possible or that I have ever wanted it is time to move on.... I not hating anymore just tired and hate what these stupid mainstream movies have doneto the scene... I have respect for any fast car whether Domestic, Import or Euro if it is fast and research and wrench time was put into it then I give it kudo's jut hate it when people dont at least try to do work on their own car theirselves...
