View Full Version : JDM XSi B16 w/LS Tranny?

I want to get a OBD0 SiRI longblock from Hmotorsonline. I ve pretty much decided that i want to stick with auto because of all the traffic and stuff. My first question is, do i have to get a B16 that was already an automatic if i wanna hook up an auto tranny? My 2nd ? is, would the LS tranny Slow it down alot as opposed to the B16? They dont make a good gearing auto tranny and i dont know what to do. Help me out and let me know what i should do!

Why the fuck would you want an automatic...? Especially for this?

The LS auto will make your car run super slower. To use the ls tranny you need to swap over the flex plate to the b16 from the LS and get the an ecu from an auto b16a. Not worth it at all IMHO. Go 5speed.

Doing the auto to manual conversion would cost alot of money too tho. Just trying to get some ideas of how it would be. Do automatics have flywheels? because if they do, couldnt you just lighten it a little bit to make the tranny not as slow?

autos have flexplates, no flywheel. Its wouldn't cost too much more to convert it. I'd save up for the 5 speed swap. Much more worth it.

And you being a girl means what...? Sorry to be such an ass, but I assume that you put in a b16a because you wanna go faster - going with an auto tranny just takes you a step backwards again to square 1.

I'm sure the B16 auto tranny is pretty good and doesnt someone make a shift kit for Honda trannies?

What is the differance between a longblock and shortblock? Is shortblock just the bottom end and longblock the whole engine minus manifolds etc?

shortblock is just the block. longblock is the head,block, intake and exhaust manifolds, dist, fuel rail, injectors, etc. Anyone have any info on where to get a B16 auto tranny or the full swap?
