just heard patrick roy is done with hockey :(

so what does this mean for the avs next season? any ideas? comments?
I'm not sure if abby is ready to play a full season, he's always been kind of hot or not in his starts.

It's a good thing I don't follow sports, or I might be upset at this news.

Likewise..who has the time anyway? I defiantely support the colorado teams, but I could care less who is in front of the net or which players we get from the draft. *yawn*

im a crazy avs fan, if it's true, it's very upsetting. i think they will get acquire another starting goalie and let him and aebischer share the job.

Yeah it sucks but Lacroix will pul something off and hopefully goaltending won't be an issue.

I heard Felix Potvin may be up for grabs and potentially an Av if Roy was to retire? Dunno details, heard it on the news a few weeks ago...

good lord mang! I live for hockey! I have this shirt, on the front it says HOCKEY is there anything else. And on the back it says, EAT, SLEEP, HOCKEY.

Sucks Roy is leaving. Sucks more that he didn't go out on a better season.

Well..its not that I dont enjoy going to the games and/or watching them on TV now and again..but I dont really know the players, the stats, even how we are doing in the season normally...I'm just not a hardcore "fan" I guess.

I agree... I like to watch the playoff's if the Av's are in, but I am not a big sports fan other than the World Cup. I just think porfessional sports are so overrated. I see people who just run fantasy teams all day long, and feel sorry for them - or they have how many ESPN's now? Like 4? And they have 2 TV's each with PIP.... :D

PotVAN sucks. We'll probably get a good goalie from the Hershey Bears.

James, the AVS ain't losing homes :D

Roy isnt a huge loss but he kinda did hold the team together ... I would be worried about losing Foresburg and Sakic now that Roy is gone...

Sux, he will be missed. Rumors are we might get the Flyers goalie (Checkmonik) or something like that. hehe I wonder if Giggy G will be any good after the Cup is said and done? Hes a free agent after this year... :p

Bad news for the Avs is Forsberg will be a free agent after next year and might finish his career in Sweden. Or he just might leave for the following year since the NHL might stop for a season for pay negotiations, which in all honesty, NHL players should be paid the most of any sport.

getting cechmannek would be tight, he kicks ass but he would be pricey. as far as Giguere, i think the ducks will do anything to keep him, i always loved the way he played, even when he was on shitty teams in calgary and carolina.

apparently, biron, burke and even khabibulin might be candidates

cechmannek was traded to the kings today
