...actually i'm just starting to get an sr20det complete swap kit. Since i dont have the right tools and enough knowledge to do the swap, I'd like to know a person or a shop who has experience with the sr20 swap before I get the complete engine swap). My car has been sitting in my garage for about a month now, after I messed up the piston rings. (it has a ka24de-T, custom kit) i didnt know the fuel was running too lean. Then it won't start anymore. The guy who i bought the kit told me that it's okay to use a fuel pressure regulator, Later I found out that I suppose to use an FMU. Anyway, I really learned the hard way. I'm thinking of rebuilding the engine, but it's going to cost me as much as the sr20 swap.

I can help out if you want... Maybe even do the whole sawp for a small fee.. I've done 3 swaps now on FWD SR20s.. So I know the setup pretty well.

Hrmm..I talked to a guy that works at the nissan dealership out towards Golden..(on colfax) he said he did that swap or had someone help him at the shop there. He seemed to know his shit about cars, and decently nice..maybe you can find him at the shop there and find out who helped him get it done? He works there anyway..drives a 240 obviously. :)

Holy old member that never posts! Glad to see you post in the intrest of helping someone else...love that about the import tuner community. Its not like he was asking to install an aluminum wing or something after all.. :)

I will help you if you need. The swap is really straight forward. I have both the us and the SR FSM plus you can send your harness away and get that done to make it truly plug and play. Email me I am pretty free over the summer.

A Fwd SR20DET expert! I have so many questions, where to start. I'm a little too excited my mind has ceased to work. I would love to do a Blue Bird/maybe Pulsar GTiR swap into a Infinti G20 or Nissan Sentra SE-R. I would like your input(i.e. problems, what to look for, maybe warnings) !

The swap is actually amazingly simple.. for the most part everything just bolts up.. What to watch out for?? Hmm,,, your pocketbook!! Doing a straight swap and using the little T25 turbo will only get hungry for more power! If you do the swap, I'd definately recommend the BB swap engine over the GTIR, just because the BB will be cheaper and easier to find parts for. It's a good idea to replace the main bearing on a BB before install, because the are known to go out.. I've never done it,, but it's something to think about... and of course you can always turbo the stock SR20,, if you're only looking to get ~260whp or so, this is the route I'd recommend.. It would probably cost about the same as a BB swap but you'd have a little more power.

Do you have an SE-R or G20 right now??

Hi folks ..... well, I jes bought a car(used) for my daily use coz my 240 is useless until now. My budget for sr20 swap went down after getting another car...=( . Right now I've got about 3k for the entire swap, would anyone be able to help me complete the entire sr swap(stock sr20det) for this much?

Nope, I'm turning 16 in December and need a car.
I'll list my ideas:

1984 Volvo 240 Wagon (5.0 V8 Swap)
1st Gen DSM (16G, 3" exhaust, MBC)
Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon (Chip, Exhaust, MBC)
Infinti G20 Or Sentra SE-R (Turbo)

Haha!! You've definately stand out in a 300hp V8 Volvo!

I'd say get a Sentra or a 1g DSM.. The dsm probably be a little cheaper, parts wise, just cause theres a ton of them around and theres a lot of support for them.. But a Nissan would probably be cheaper to buy (the car) and easier to tune (say JWT).

I own both,, and I can say that I like by Nissan better.. but maybe that's cause I'm new in the DSM world.. and I still think SR20s are 10 times easier to work on. but either way you can't go worng,, especially for your first car.

Good luck!

My dad doesn't like the idea of working on another 4G63 or SR20, I hate my brother burning my dad out on working on cars he has had bad experiences with both of those motors. So it will take some talking. I'm starting to warm up to the 850 Turbo, w/chip & exhaust makes 275 at the crank, should be good for owning some Hondas and stock turboed cars. Best of all wagon power.
