I know this has already been posted, but I'm still droolin' over the thought of a 500+ horsepowered SVT Focus...

:D

"However, consider this in the words of a popular TV commercial: Custom 18-inch HRE rims, $4,500; Eibach springs and performance suspension, $5,200; SVT Mustang powertrain swap, $35,000; pulling into a weekend import tuner car meet, dropping the clutch, mashing the throttle and seeing all those puzzled faces—priceless."

BTW: You can get a complete Cobra motor for $12,495 from www.karkraft.com and the 6-speed tranny's only $1600.

I'd bet you can get the car built, (with less expensive wheels---and that suspension's GOTTA be less) for HALF of what ATI is charging.

A RWD Focus would be a lot of fun. You could do it a lot cheaper using Ford's RWD conversion kit and a Windsor motor.

It actually looks pretty good in that pic. Getting the right wheels and proper RWD helps considerably.

well, now that would be a very quick car.

Could you imagine pulling up next to a focus that sounds like a mustang

Geez - $35k for a swap! Cool car, though.

*yawn* there isnt a single focus on the road I would bother to race..even if it sounded like a V8. I'm sure you could pick on ricers all day and night..but anyone with a faster car would prolly see a focus and just laugh. At least I would. :)

I would too if I ran 14's stock

500 ponies in a Focus: that's gotta be an 11-second car: BEFORE drag radials. 500 HP Cobras are in the 11's and they weigh more than 500 pounds more.

I don't suppose there'd be much laughter while watching the ugly butt get smaller as it ran away though, would there?? :)

(Of course, I'm only going on what was written about the car...)

But doesn't that 500 pounds more include it's drivetrain? I'm guessing that swap weighs a lot more than the stock Focus components.

Shit, I don't care if it LOOKS like a Focus, that is badass!!

A stock Cobra weighs around 3700 pounds. A SVT is around 2700, but after the swap is around 3200.
