Where: Back parking lot at the park on 108th & colorado

When: 8:30PM Saturday, 31 May 2003

To semi-initiate the new loop that seems to be developing on 120th & 104th, form Colorado to washington, were having a meet at the park on 108th & colorado, then go cruzin on the new loop.

We've been talking about developing a new loop there for a few weeks now, & we want this to be a large turnout.

COSR thread (http://www.cosr.com/forum1/index.php?act=ST&f=60&t=13980&st=0&#entry230065)

if you arent registered:

Ghostblk95:
"like the title says...I'm setting up a meet for saterday the 31st at the park at 108th and colorado blvd at 8:30pm. The purpose is to get as many of us togather for about a half hour to an hour before going out and cruising around togather in what has been semi established as the new ring/loop....Please try to fill up the farthest back parking lot of the park first and we will expand twords the street from there *minimizes the possibility of it getting broken up* Please be on good behavior as burnouts and speeding through the parking lots is not condoned....Please inform friends and such with nice cars to please come participate as this is not a cosr only event...praveen,shane,matt,titus-please get ahold of the ls1-ty/sy clubs and get HAI involved with this if at all possible also...I hope to see a great turnout and one hell of a night of fun...*please feel free to give suggestions, as long is its on topic....thx

btw can I get someone to pin this up? thx

Dave"

Ghosty:
"We'll call our friends. This will be cool Dave. Being public, expect some riff-raff, rice, etc. though. I know we all expect it, but hopefully as many "decent" rides will show up to offset it. Some of you guys definitely call the Domestic playa's. It would be cool to get a lot of Stangs/Camaro's/etc.

Later on, I'd like to get some photo's of "certain cars" together. Maybe that section of the lot Below the entrance (to the right), if it stays empty. It would be cool to get all the Twin-turbo's together, Sy/Ty's in a row, Stangs/Camaro's together, etc. WITHOUT all the B.S. in the way (Accord with no hood, broken down ricers, corn, unpainted bodykits, parkbench wings, etc.) for some nice photo's.

I might show up..but I'm not sure I want to have my car there with a ton of people I dont know and/or trust gawking at it. Of course the "we dont like rice" posting on COSR made me laugh. Whenever I've been to a COSR organize....err....disorganized meet there have been a LOT of fawking ricers, too many for my taste really. Last time..I get people talking shit about my RSX for no reason, I cant imagine what they would have to say about the new car. Fuck it..I wont be there. :p

That's probably different.

Bedlam: Don't worry man, just show up, it's all good. When someone mentions rice, we're just referring to the really ridiculous obvious stuff. Not doggin on people. It's not about money, it's about taste. Heheh.

Thrice: Why will the cops be there "FO SHO"? It's a public place, and if everyone behaves while the park is open, what would be the problem?

I've been to four events that were planned and/or started on COSR. Every one of them involved the police showing up because people were acting like fucking idiots, and we were parked somewhere we shouldnt have been. Mostly I get frustrated because well..lets just take an example here. The Krispy Kreme meet. It was said that it was cleared with the manager at Krispy Kreme...I talked to him, and the police, that night personally...nobody ever talked to them. I like meeting new people, seeing cars that arent part of the group I normally hang out with. The guy wasnt being critical of my car, he was trying to pick a fucking fight, there is quite a large difference. If someone said...(for example) "god the Acura RSX is fucking ugly" near me I would have taken it with a grain of salt. This asshole looked directly at me, saying he couldnt believe how much of a slow piece of shit it was. It was new, bone stock, shiny as hell...and he drove off in a fucking ghetto-rice cavalier. Hrmm....

In my experience, organization and these meets dont seem to be in the same fucking zip code. I only bothered to go to four different ones, so that maybe someone could prove me wrong. Yet, EVERY time...exact same outcome. If you want to have a nice meet, why not do it during the day, somewhere legal...where we can all actually hang out, have fun, and not worry about the young kids running away like roaches with the police show up? Talk about looking guilty. Almost every time the police have showed up at a meet I've been at, I've talked to them personally about what was going on..its ALWAYS the same. The places that were picked by the "organizers" dont want us there. I think meeting in a park is a great idea..but its damn close to the park curfew isnt it?

Please dont get me wrong here, I've met some great people at the northern get togethers, and seen some cool cars...but when I go up and say hi to someone..only to get interruped by the police telling everyone to get lost...it gets tiring man.

Well said, Mike. I tried to explain the same thing to them a few months ago (after the Longmont Albertsons "meet"), but they just didn't get it and started all kinds of anti-HAI hostilities. Apparently I'm a big hater asshole because I pointed out that they were doing something illegal and being completely obvious about it, so the cops were really being very lenient.

Some people from COSR are mature enough to have a discussion with, but most of those who had an "opinion" only showed how immature and irresponsible they are. And I've found that it's nothing but frustrating trying to reason with that kind of person, because they never get it. I guess you have to fight ignorance with ignorance.

Just my 2 cents

park curfew is at 11:00...I'm sorry to hear your experiences havent been the best, this should be a night of fun without cops running us off *they actually recomended using a park at one of the meets they busted up in the past*...like I said before, hope to see you guys there, it should be fun...

Bedlam, and others with past bad COSR experiences. You POINT OUT any problems, shit-talking, etc. to me personally, and I'll try an help you "resolve" it in the most intelligent way possible. We're not gonna tolerate a bunch of b.s., unfortunately it's sometimes out of our hands, but we'll see. Forget the meet part, whether it's awesome or it sucks. At least the cruising around should be a kick and if people don't stoplight-race, shouldn't be too much drama either...

You know... heavy duty manufactured springs are legal, according to the state law. I'm not sure if Westminster has some BS ordinance that says otherwise, but Titus got out of his ticket by showing that his springs are in compliance with the state law.

I just wouldn't argue with the cop on the scene... he could be a real jerk and impound the car for evidence, even though everything's legal. Totally corrupt and no one with power cares to do anything about it. :(

I'm not sure what kind of Drag Racing your ass has been watching?

NASCAR..........err I mean Trashcar is nothing like Drag Racing jackass. Since when did 30 cars drag race each other all at once...........and in a circle no less.

Have you ever pulled yourself away from your Autocross Racing to even go to a Drag race?

well the weather looks like it should be good, and the turnout is looking real nice...keep in mind we have been told it is NOT breaking any law being in public parks durring open hours so as long as we behave we should have no problems...also IF the cops do show up please do not scatter off like roaches as it only makes us look guilty for something...IF they show up its probably to make sure nothing illegal is taking place which is well within their rights...it should be fun hope to see a lot of you there...;)

Did I ever say that drag racing was with 30 cars in a circle? No, I didn't. In fact, I specifically listed that as a difference. Learn to comprehend, dumbass.

And I wasn't trashing on drag racing. The 1/4 mile stays interesting because it doesn't last a long time. Would you really want to watch cars race in a straight line for hours on end? I was just saying that's basically what Nascar is... high horsepower cars that aren't so great at turning, racing in what might as well be a straight line for a long time. The only thing that keeps it interesting is the crashes.

But i want to know if there is a possibilty of people that would actually start acting stupid in that cruise..... like burn outs and such, because that really ruins it....

No matter how much people try to prevent that, you know there's going to be some dumb fucks who think they're cool and they'll do stupid shit.

It's been clearly demonstrated that there are plenty of those types of people on both HAI and COSR, so we'll get some of them, plus others who heard about the event indirectly, and more people who just saw a bunch of cars together.

Hopefully it'll stay under control, but we should have realistic expectations.

Agreed. Weston- ever watched NASCAR at Watkins Glenn or Sebring? Those tracks are what seperate the men from the boys, the drivers that road race do well there and the chassis techs that know what they are doing also do well there even with a car that "Cant turn well"

Its the American public that demands the spectacle of circle track not the sanctionoing body iteslf.

You people dont get it -- its not about watching autoX -- its about driving well.

As a sticker I see quite often puts it:
Drag racing is for fast cars.
AutoX is for fast dirvers.

Once again, I wasn't trashing on drag racing.

As for autocross... First of all, I never said anything about it in this thread, so you guys are the ones trying to turn this into a drag race vs autocross argument, not me. I'm not going to waste my time with that pointless debate. Do what you want, I don't care.

But, I will explain autocrossing for you... It's goal is not to be a spectator sport, it's a driver skills competition. A lot of people just don't get it, so they come out once or twice, do shitty, and declare it sucks. That's fine with me... I'd rather that those people stay away. Less cars means more runs for me, and less idiots means less stupidity and less F&F cracks. Autocross is for people who can act like adults and are willing to put in the effort to improve themselves. It can be entertaining and educational to watch it, but that depends on your tastes and if you know what to watch for. In any case, the vast majority of the excitement is in the car. Sure, it sucks if you have a crappy run, but that's the driver's fault, and it's probably still fun for a rider anyway. If you want to be competitive on a real track, autocross is a great place to learn how.

Dude.......I'm sure you would hand my ass to me at an auto X.............just like I'd do the same to you at the drag strip. That's usually the end result when you take a person with no experience in one form of racing and put him in another form of racing against experienced drivers. You obviously are a very smart guy to be able to figure out that equation.

All I was trying to tell Weston was that his blanket statement couldn't have been more further from the truth. Basically saying that he ought to maybe do a little research, before he makes such general statements.

BTW............I already knew I was an idiot, you guys haven't told me anything new. Just ask anyone........I'm as fuckin dumb as a pile of shit.

BTW............I already knew I was an idiot, you guys haven't told me anything new. Just ask anyone........I'm as fuckin dumb as a pile of shit.

I guess it was your "language" .. ehhe

No prob... On the strip I would be 16 seconds behind you ... :-)

No shit, thread hijack. Heheheh. It's a basic car-meet with some cool cars and cool people, then mobbing around Thornton and elsewhwere. Not a wild CarShow/Party/Carnival/etc. And if you're new around here, come introduce yourselves, we don't bite. Heheh.

Well, it was a decent turnout. We had people driving like complete assholes in the lot, screeching tires, the EXACT thing that shuts down a cruise. Didn't expect Marvin to grab a handful of throttle and redline my BRAND NEW bike for me, I was reasonably pissed about that, but oh well. Swear to god I'll fucking taze the next person that touches that throttle. But it was a nice night! Had a good meal with Mike and his company Jen, then called it a night. Hope everyone had fun!

I dont think they were trying to hit you, when most of the V8 guys left they were trying to avoid the curbs that kept jumping out at them.

well I had to end up leaving a little early so I missed a little...from what I saw everyone was pretty much calm and collected *there was one exception I will admit* but for the most part it was very undercontrol...but then again I was out of there by like 10:00...got to meet a few new people, and enjoyed seeing 2 evo's up close and seeing so much diversity...hondas,dsms,vettes,stangs and such.....hope to do it again sometime....

I thought everyone was adultlike while I was there and would like to say thank you...peace;)

Well I'll admit that there were a few exceptions, but for the most part it was good.

Was that "one" exception the Silver Evo? HEheh. Sorry 'bout that. Dan just wanted to show me how it handles when he took me around. HONESTLY, I thought he was going out to Colorado Bldvd., didn't think he was going to do that inside the LOT! I think he knows better now... ;)

But there were some nice cars there. Any body know the NA 3000GT with kit and cf hood?

Nah, the exceptions weren't anyone from this board. NOT pointing fingers or anything, those people knew who they were. It's cool, I was just pissed when I posted about the whole redline with 140 miles on it.

uhh you don't need to waite until she's 15, thats for the big boys that are over the age of 18. Hell you could be with a 10 year old and no body will really care.

From ages 16 to 18 there is a 4 year thing. 16 year old can be with a 20 year old, 17 with a 21, but come 18 its anyone.

From __-16 I believe it is 2 years...

So a 15 year old can be with a 13 year old but not a 12 year old.

Sorry this was random but I figured I would chime in so nobody goes off and hits it with any 10 year olds thinking its legal ;) :o
