Say goodbye:D second creek is on Arsenal property and will be torn down in 2 years. The goverment is being very nice in giving the two race tracks some time to move but they will be gone in 2 years. The farmer that leased the land to the race tracks has been collecting money on property that is not even his. Fish and Wildlife wants their land back and will also close the road that runs in front of the tracks.
i wonder where they will move to:confused: with all the homes going in up north they will have a hard time getting approval to build.

Wasn't something similar supposed to happen with Bandimere, like they were supposed to shut it down and move it somewhere else or something?

Yeah, I've been hearing that for a couple years now. It's too bad, and I don't see anything really taking it's place :(

This has been well known for a long time. It wasn't zoned for the track, thus the temporary lease since 1983. The original owner actually sold the land for more developments according to the Colorado Motorsports Council. Do not fear my road racing friends, a solution has been in the works for 3 years...

a 99 year lease is not exactly temporary.

the original owner is the Army, they did not sell it.

The Colorado Motorsports Council is going to build another track eventually. The council is who heads up all the major motorsports venues for colorado.

I wish it was 99 years!
Temp zoning, the lease was bought in blocks.
the original owner is the Army, they did not sell it.
Then the council must be wrong?
They have said a few times at the monthly meetings that by '05, the track will be houses.

Nah no houses, the farmer took this to court and got laughed at :) the land will just be part of the refuge.

Good, that's much better than houses in my opinion. Who wants to live that close to the airport anyway? hahaha
