I ran a 91.4 and am still cranky about that whole day. I was on about an hour's sleep, got there at like 8:15, and found that there were no course maps and they were still altering the course up until the last minute. I only got one walk and they changed stuff afterwards, so it was pretty much pointless.
Then there was delay after delay after delay, and several of us had various plans that I think all of us were late for. By the time I actually got to run, it was 7 hours after I walked it, and the chalk likes were non existant. I burned my first 2 runs by running into suprises in the course and finding that the car was having a hard time rotating. On my third run, I had the course pretty much figured out and the tire pressure balance good, but I was too tired to concentrate on left foot braking, so I screwed that up and about spun it several times, on top of slowing down way too much. That was still my best run, but I know I could have shaved so much time off of that if I were able to concentrate. I guess I didn't do too bad in points (890), but I usually do better in my class. That was the first time that an RSX Type-S beat me. :(

But on the upside, I'm now in the top 50 drivers for the season. :)

Cool, I didn't even see the Novice Season Points Standings (http://www.rmsolo.org/results/03/ssn_nov.TXT) until today. I'm 4th. :) I would have been 3rd, but I clipped a cone on my last run of the first event, so my "best" run was a second higher and it killed my points. :(

Who's running CSP with an engine swap? I hope you know that's cheating pretty blatantly. Whoever it is should buck up and run SM where they belong.

I beleive its ZCHybridCivic who is the big ol cheater. Unless I have a different interpretation of the rule book.
Stock
This class includes mass produced vehicles able to be used for normal street driving. Stock Category cars must compete in their showroom configuration with only minor modifications allowed such as aftermarket shocks, wheels, and tires. Other minor modifications are allowed as well, so please refer to the Solo Rules for details.
Street Prepared
Any and all Stock Category vehicles are eligible for Street Prepared. You're also allowed to make modifications to the suspension, ignition, intake, and exhaust to further enhance the performance of the vehicle. No internal engine modifications are allowed, but minor changes to the bodywork to accommodate larger wheels and tires are permitted. Please refer to the Solo Rules for details on the allowable modifications.

You don't. There's no engine swaps allowed in Street Prepared. In fact there's not much allowed to the engine at all in SP. You can have the basic boltons and you can mill the head .25 inches to get some extra compression. That's it.

found some rules and edited earlier post for clarity.
I remember the days of me and Pat fukking up the tarmac in SOlo. I used to love SM. Me and hatchie used to kick the living shit out of everything. (including trans parts)

Yeah it was still fun back then. You actually got more than three runs and still had time for fun runs at the end of the day.
Now with 200+ people showing up per event it's too much of a hassle.

What kind of an engine swap does he have? Certain swaps are allowed in all classes, but it's pretty limited.

he has a 1.6 ZC in a normally 1.5 SOHC car. His car was never offered in the US with said setup.

Tobi is a big ol cheater....
Street Sport Compact: Open to all Import and Sport Compact (domestic 4cyl, fwd) vehicles (no bikes), 7.50 seconds and slower Street-legal, DOT approved tires and mufflers mandatory. No electronics (see Rules Regarding Electronics). Ok, lets see those rules...oh here they are:
8.2 IGNITION
Timed ignition interruption devices (stutter boxes) prohibited. Starting line and/or "high side" rev limiters permitted. Two-steps, Rev limiters or any other rpm limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed so as to function as a down-track rpm controller, prohibited.
Hmm, interesting......

How is that cheating? All I have is a starting line rev limit and high side limit. (two step) and I garuntee you its installed correctly. Nice try though.

lol, I was wondering who beat me by 0.028 seconds. I'll be there on the 24th and 25th... the PPIR course is supposed to be really good. I think I'll get some sleep before this one. ;)
