Men accused of racing

Two men were accused of racing their cars on a county road that Boulder County Sheriff deputies say is known for speed contests.

While conducting surveillance in the area of 115th Street and Vermillion Road, deputies reported ticketing 19-year-old Brandon Copeland, who was driving a blue Firebird, and 20-year-old David Bigley, who was driving a black Eagle Talon.

Both men were taken to the Boulder County Jail to be booked and ticketed, and their cars were towed, according to arrest reports.

Can you guys run quarter miles uncoarked in colorado? cause down here we gotta go to a track thats outta the way, to run without exhaust.

Umm, my question is why were they arrested? I've been pulled over for "speed contest", got my 12 point ticket and was on my merry way in about 15 minutes. I've had some street racing busted up by cops and guys that were racing at the time only got 12 pointers as well, no jail time etc.
Kinda weird to me.

Because it's more than just a traffic ticket, it's a crime. They don't have to haul you in, but they can. It all depends on the circumstances and the cop.
