Heres Mine:

1st Heat: 20.40
2nd Heat: 20.68
3rd Heat: 20.73 <---with shitty kart

And I was in a "slow" cart when I hit the 21.01. Lemme in #6 and I'll see what I can pull. Guess all those years of Go-cart and dirt track racing helps a little.

Holy shit go-karts! I haven't been there in so long. Do you guys still go alot. I want to go do that again. That shit is so fun!

I think my best time was like 25.83 or something. I'm quite a hefty guy you know.

ok, I'm reviving this thread. I was curious if anybody knew of some good go-kart places in Colorado Springs cause Joyrides is realllllllllllllllly slow.

I wasn't going to mention this, but I took my son to a junior carting school at TBC a few months ago. His best time was a VERY low 21....I can't remember exactly what it was, but here's the kicker:

HE WAS 10 AT THE TIME!!

....that was in the smaller junior carts.

BTW: TBC is just north of I-70 and east of Colorado Blvd. Just take 70 to Colo. Blvd, go north to the first street that turns east and follow the road around. It's got a checkered flag stripe along the top of the building---you can't miss it. :)

not your bedtime, hahaha. If were gonna have a meet, it should be on a Saturday or a Monday. Mondays are 10 dollar run days, and Saturdays are 3 runs for 30 bucks, but you have to buy 3 runs to get thee discount. Either day works for me, lets just figure out a good day for everyone

BTW my best recently (just this Monday) was a 21.80 I think; I weigh 160 lbs.

I hadn't been in well over a year and it was superfun to go rip around again. Tough on the hands though . . .

yea, you should of seen the blister I got on my hand the last time. When I left it was just a flab a skin in the middle of my hand but within a week it filled up with a shit load of puss, when I poped it almost puked.

Went again last night, new record for me - 20.63! Man, I never thought the cart itself could make such a difference. First race, drove kart #1 - that thing was a POS. It had a violent front end vibration at speed that made it impossible to hold clean lines. Best I could do in that pig was 21.65 (four times, that exact time - weird).

Then, I drove #7 - that thing felt like it had power steering and traction treatment on the tires in comparison. I might have driven a little better, but the car was most of the improvement for sure.

Anyhoo, just wanted to let you guys know that TBC started a new special on Mondays that is $40 for unlimited races the entire day. My friends took me, first time racing Go-Karts other than at Boondocks. Got a stinky 22.75 for the best.

Well it's cheap if you want to stay all day, or do more than 4 races. I never have in the past. The old special of $10/race on Mondays was way better IMO. But obviously it wasn't making them much money.

Hsun beat my 22.38 with a 22.37 on the last lap. Arg! :Peace:

On another note, those karts are definately slower than they used to be. I had questioned that the last time I was there (about 4 weeks ago), but didn't know for sure until Hsun ran comparable times to me today.

And the tires on #3 were shot... I ran that kart in the second race and didn't have grip for shit... David almost beat me that time.

Still the old karts, but they were a good 1 second faster than last time. No noticeable course changes; the karts were just a little better maintained, but as usual, some karts sucked while others didn't... according to the guy working there, I got the crappiest one in the bunch (#6)... just my luck. But it was a good time and we should go out there more often. Robbie ran a best of 21.14, I ran 21.33, Chris ran 21.56, and Mike ran 21.63.

I challenge Robbie to a rematch... best lap time after at least 2 races, and we trade karts for the second race, so there's no worry about crappy karts.

No, I'm not married. ;NutKick; :rofl: Anyway... so maybe I talked a little too much shit for the crappy kart that I ended up with, and the fact that it was my first race of the night. He only got me by 0.19 seconds though. We will trade karts when there's a rematch and then we can accurately declare who is the supreme warrior of the karts. :D
