Howdy,

I ran my "mostly, kinda, not really" stock '02 WRX at Albuquerque tonight. We're at 5300 feet, so I know what 'thin air' is all about. You ever had to back off on a run because there was a SNAKE in your lane??? Oh yeah, well tonight I did! Safety Safari guys brought me back a dead 7-foot long Bull Snake when I reported it!

They just repaved the track this week, so the timing was limited to 60' and 1/4 mile ET and MPH until they install the infrared system next week. I can't seem to get under a 2.0 60' time no matter how I launch it. Frustrating, eh? Here's my slip:

Reaction: .102
60 Foot: 2.012
330 Foot:
660 Foot:
1/4 Mile ET: 14.533
1/4 Mile Trap: 93.988

Two weeks ago I ran a 14.93@91.7with just the boost controller.

Modifications to my Sport Wagon are now: K&N drop-in filter, JDM STi turbo up-pipe and HKS EVC boost controller set to 15 psi.

She's still got the stock exhaust after the turbo; catalytics, 2.25" muffler and all. I'm looking at either a HKS or Greddy cat-back system as the next mod. I think I'm going to keep the stock downpipe cause my wife "Doesn't Like Really Loud Cars". Poor girl.

I keep hearing about another WRX fella in Albuquerque with turbo-back exhaust, cold-air intake, blah blah blah. He supposedly runs 14.3's!!!! Ha! Just gimme my cat-back and I got him!

Pecos, eh? Just up the road from Santa Fe about a 30 minute drive.

The track in albuquerque can't really decide what to call themselves. At various times they use Albuqueruque International Speeday, Albquerque Dragway, and other variations on the theme. It's a low-dollar sorta place, as their website demonstrates,

the track website is:

www.abqdragway.com (http://www.abqdragway.com)

From Pecos you're looking at atleast 1 1/2 hour drive each way. Probably a little more than 100 miles each direction to the track.

drop me a e-mail at: skeptic@cybermesa.com if you're in town and wheel (sic) (pun intended) hookup (Ah! I did it again! No more puns!).

That is, perhaps, the most ghetto website I've ever seen. Damn.
Is it 1992 or something?
