First of all..you need to learn how to spell. Secondly..its going to cost more than its worth to ship used equipment all the way to colorado. Besides that..after reading all of your descriptions of your equipment..its pretty obvious that you dont know shit about it. Using an EQ to boost your preamps to make your stereo louder? If you cant adjust the amplifier...maybe the components dont belong together in the first place. Scary.
What made you decide to spam this over here anyway? If you took even a minute to check out our board..you would know we dont live close.

well first off bedlam let me say im glad to see that you dont know shit about car audio or how any of it works. you probly let people at bestbuy or circutcity install your shit. its a good thing because you seem like an idot and could probly blow the motor tring to put i a cd player. oh and preamp ajustment from the xover mens just that "pre" = befor "amp" amplifer ajusting the voltage going in to the amp at the crossover allows for more volume without ajusting the output on the amp this all equles beter sound quality and less distortion. ;OwnEd; to those people who like ther music to sound clear an dont just listen t how loud the bass is. and just one more thing so you konw with tis set up i pulled a 136.4 db in a spl contest 1 12' sub at 300 watts in a trunk :fu:

Selling a sub with a cracked basket and/or surround? Good luck...
Phoenix gold is crap? Since when? A few yrs ago, when I was seriously considering doing some IASCA stuff, PG was a VERY good consumer-grade products.
I'd not have any hesitation about buying PG amps... However, my loyalty still lies with SoundStream. :)

hrmm..I worked at a pretty high end stereo shop while I was in school..and had certifications from almost all of out vendors...I also played around in IASCA for a few years..but of course I dont know anything about car audio. Funny that I won 3 competitions when I was in "SQ Rookie" if I really dont know anything about this stuff, and did even better my 2nd year.
"im selling a phonixgold 215ix 15 band eq with bilt in x-over it has one small scrach i only want 170 for it it was around $300 new. lots of ajustment and it will boost the rca out put(makes stereo louder) "
Ok..here is the problem with that, expert. If you take a shitty signal from your tuner, and amplify it, you also amplify everything thats "bad" in that signal. Then..you turn around and send that signal to your amplifier...which, in turn, amplifies it again. Were you able to follow along there or am I going too fast?
The only way you can make your stereo louder, is adding more power...you dont get more power by turning up the signal the amp is getting. Your amp will only put out as much power as it can..you cant make it "louder" by putting in more signal. I know thats a tough concept.
"im selling a 12'' boston pro subwoofer it can handel 50 to 1200 watts of power has great sound quality and retale on it is $300 it has a crack in the basket but it still seals i only want $80 for it i pulled 130db with this sub with only 300 watts it been out of my car for 1 1/2 years i just dont need it anymore i will negotiat(sp) on the price"
Anyone who would be interested in the sub..would want to know if thats RMS, peak, whatever..prolly what model it is also, not how much you say it can "handel" after some "negotiat" jackass...
Go back to school...and maybe post again in a few years.

considering I can find the same and more features on amps with more power than a phoenix gold amp on other amplifier makes, I've always stuck with the others. Rockford Fosgate, Kicker, Soundstream, oh the list goes on. When I was into car audio back in, oh '97-'99 we'll say, PG had a 4 channel amp with 40 or 60 watts max that was huge and they wanted like $650 for it. Sounded like a huge rip-off to me considering I could find 4 channel 100 watts max at 4 ohms for a lot less, although I ended up paying more(I think around $600) by getting a soundstream because of the quality associated with it and their superior image in the industry. And if you have any inclination whatsoever that I didn't research all of this shit back then, here's your case in point... my goal was 100 watts max at 4 ohms through 4 in car speakers, two of which were 4 inch front dash speakers in my '90 pontiac grand am. At the time, there was only one speaker manufacturer who made 4 inch speakers that could handle 120 watts peak at 4 ohms for less than $300. JBL. And I had those speakers in my front dash. I searched high and low for them, found them brand spankin new, and installed those that night... what a beautiful sound.

Well..I was never into them that much either..but they are a good amplifier. There amps are stable and still making power with loads down to like .5 ohms..scary stuff. Anyway..I saw some guy competing with one that was running 16 speakers to that one amp..it was seeing almost a dead short...and kicking out like 900 watts. They are (almost) worth the money..but they are old technology now.

.5 doesn't even impress me. RF and SS will do that easily, probably kicker as well. JBL too.

yeah , you ever see a soundstream amp put out .5 ohms .... it has literally caught cars on fire don't get me wrong they are powerful amps but soundstream started the water test when they switched from the D series line ....
explanation of the water test ......... run an amp till it gets its hottest....put a drop of water on the heatsink ... if it sits there and boils it is good ..... if the water explodes off the heatsink .... then its a tad hot ......
as far as RF goes ... I don't think I have ever seen them put out a product that will do .5 ohm .... 1 ohm maybe with proper cooling
JBL .... might as well buy an american hi-fi amp ...... you aren't getting any low ohm load out of that
kicker ... not sure about ... mosly because if a car speaker manufacturer make 1 really good product ... they should stick with it instead of having somebody produce some over priced amps for them
as far as pheonix gold .... overpriced and usually not much poer ...... but they are mostly known for the sound quality .... I don't know how many on the board know what good sound quality is ... but I am sure there are a few of you out there that know that a stereo system consist of more then 12" and 15"
some of you might say I am talking crap but I was imersed in the car stereo competition arena for many years between 91 and 94
examples of former stereos ...... image dynamic horns with 6.5" ... accompanied by 4 15" ... all run by 2 amps rated at 150 watts total @ 4 ohm crunch 425 and a crunch 250HC - 250hc running 1 ohm mono putting out 400 pure watts ... not bad for a 25x2 rated amp
6' 4' and 1' tweeter with 2 10" running RMS under 100 watts hifonics cupid and a linear power 225 - main accomplishment with that was I was only 1 db lower then a local car stereo store demo truck running 8 15" ..... I played a 100hz test tone .. he played a bass cd .... boy were they mad ..... they were also trying to complain that I couldn't do that :)
Pushing an amp to drive 1/2 or 1/4 ohm is cool and all, and it will produce some healthy SPL. However, pushing that much power will result in less control over the driver - I believe it's referred to as "Q".
I gave up on bigtime car audio years ago, after I lost the ability to hear a lot of midranged sound - stuff like voices. Not at all good, but that's what I got for years of cranking it up in a small enclosed space...

:werd: I too have a lot of my hearing gone. I still crank it up somewhat here and there, depends on the song and where I'm driving and what kindof mood I'm in.

At least you don't have tinnitus. I've had it since I was 15 yrs old. For those of you that don't know tinnitus is the ringing or hissing sound in your ears when actually no external sound is present. Drives me crazy sometimes.
ps-way to go Mike, you 0wned that kid.

I guess my first reply to him made me sound like a jerk..but I figured that he was just a hit & run type poster...and I was 100% correct it seems. Then..after he starts flaming on me..I got a little upset..I may not be the ultimate stereo resource..but I do know 1 or 2 things.
Sucks about your hearing man..I noticed that I was making my ears suffer a bit too much after a few years..havent really done much stereo stuff since then..I still love a good sound system..but I dont go for insane loud anymore. I decided keeping my hearing was a good thing after talking to a physics professor that was an officer in the marines..he couldnt hear SHIT..I didnt want to end up like that.

I figured you only joined the board so you could post your ad, thats what I meant by the hit and run comment. Sorry if thats not the case..I'm not always such as ass, really. :) I wasnt trying to pick a fight..but I just thought it was a little weird that this was your one and only post so far. No hard feelings man.

yea i usually dont react as badly as that, but i was having a bad day when i saw your post. i just stumbled on to this board and it looked cool so i posted. i only have about 30 boards that i follow so my post numbers are always low except for on my local boards. drink one for me
30 boards! Man - you must be one busy guy...
On a more serious note, why even bother trying to sell a subwoofer with basket and/or surround problems? It's worth literally nothing...

cracked alumium is easy to fix. i just dont have an alumium welder any longer or i would fix it. also the crack is only cousmedic it does no harm to the performance of the woofer, its like scratching an amp looks bad but works fine.
