View Full Version : Finally turned up the boost
I had a hallman laying around and v8spankr donated his old boost guage to the cause (thanks Paul) cranked her up to a consevative 13 psi from 10 psi stock.
All I have to say is it is really nice to be back in real boost.
The car pulls really hard now, according to my butt dyno Id say it will better a 14.99 et in weeks to come (not been to track yet with the brick). V8spankr thinks im gonna be stuck in the 15's and Im out to prove him wrong so wish me luck:cool:

I have to say I think it will be in the 15's also.......but good luck I hope you prove us wrong.........
Ain't it cool to see what just a few more psi in the intake manifold can do? :) :)

You may need to go a few psi higher to break into the 14s up here. Make a few runs, see how it performs, and go up to 15 psi if you don't like the results.
I wouldn't run too much boost for everyday driving on a high mileage engine, but for a few runs at the track you should be ok after all the maintenance you performed.
I'm curious to see how your car responds to the extra boost up at this elevation - might help me make up my mind whether to spend the $$$ on an ECU or not.

I know I'm being a conservative pain in the ass.
15.3s at best is my guess.

BIKENSKI, I tried a couple methods of hooking the boost controller up. just save yourself aggrevation and hook it up inline with the boost controll solenoid if you go the mbc route. its about a 30 sec install. also you can just run a boost guage off of the vaccum tree next to the throttle body without having to t into any lines. its very simple and very effective.
lets just say I have a smile on my face now that I've turned it up.

I still need to get a Hallman to experiment on my car. Maybe this week...hmmm
